<p>Wouldn’t necessarily say that’s true. More and more schools are giving SAT writing equal weight with each passing year (most ivies do with exception to Cornell). It’s become standard practice to report/state one’s score out of 2400, no one I know just simply mentions the combined M+CR scores.</p>
<p>Going back to OP’s question: I spoke to an AO over email and a student admissions ambassador, both stated that SAT writing is considered in the same light relative to other sections for evaluating students applying to any NYU program/campus.</p>
