NYU Class of 2019 Discussions ED1

@xxUtopia if you don’t have the year 2016 next to the message, you don’t have the change. I believe that’s an old quote of mine and I have realized it is wrong. The message itself doesn’t matter so much (edii and rd applicants last year had the message “no award access available,” but they had the year listed next to it.

@moradis26 Yea I did not apply FA so my FA changed from “No financial aid information found” to “Award access not available”
@smnparish Ah okay, well I saw someone who got into Stern with the Award access not available message.
Oh wells ;-;

@xxUtopia yeah my cc said that it would not apply to us because we didn’t apply for financial aid. i don’t know if the fact that it changed from no financial aid information found to award access not available is extremely significant…but you never know! which program are you applying into?

@moradis26 I applied to CAS and my application still has CAS listed. But I have below average SAT for CAS, so I’m skeptical as to why I was not changed to LSP. I guess it is just a glitch idk.

25 hours and 14 minutes left!! i’m dying!!! :((

@xxutopia yeah you can definitely get in without the change.

@moradis26 I didn’t apply for FA and got the “2016 - no self service…” Change. The theory applies to everyone except internationals

Wait i remember i didn’t apply for FA too but i got the change saying 2016-nyu-no self service access for this aid year…how do you check if you actually apply or not? i didn’t even hand in my CSS profile thing either…but i got an email from NYUSH asking me to fill the CSS profile thing out ASAP a week ago…so I’m not sure now…

@xxUtopia‌ yeah they are usually glitches, they have so many applicants so i them not changing your program prob doesn’t mean anything

yea i just checked my common app thing…i put no for FA and i still got the change.

so i don’t think the change means anything…

@xinniiiye well it could still mean something because the theory goes that, even if you didn’t apply for FA in 2015-16, they’ve given you the option to apply for financial aid during the 2016-17 school year, suggesting that you have been accepted.

@runaway17‌ I hope the FA theory is true thou!!! but i don’t wanna get my hope up :o

guys if you have “award access not available” but no year, at the bottom of the page it says “If the aid year is not activated, your award information has yet to be determined.”

@moradis26‌ so does that mean that basically everyone will get the FA change eventually?

@xinniiiye‌ i honestly don’t know, im quite confused to be honest with you

@xinniiiye the FA office reviews everyone even if they didn’t apply for aid. Applying for aid or not does not alter the legitimacy of the FA change theory.

is the award access not available
the change

@indiedeon‌ nope. you want it to say “2016 - no self service access” for the change

im really wondering if ill be able to sleep at all during december 15.

does this FA change apply for international students??
