It stands for Candidate Weekend.
in every application cycle (ED1, ED2, and RD), they select the top 5% of the application pool and invite them to the candidate weekend. 3 days in Abu Dhabi and you don’t do interviews there or anything so it’s not evaluative (anymore, as it used to be) and it’s just full of trips, to a park, a bus tour around Abu Dhabi, the Sahara desert, and of course the campus!
The best part is that it’s fully sponsored, you don’t pay anything even for the plane tickets.
You have to attend CW to be considered for admission.

NYUAD instantly rejects anyone who doesn’t put NYUAD as their first choice, we were 170 during candidate weekend, and I didn’t find a single person that had NYUAD not their top choice

Yes, mine is like that too. I also clicked the button and it said ‘‘We sent an email to mynetid@nyu.edu’’

I have like 0 updates regarding my portal but I can now also see NYU Washington DC in my housing portal lmao
