<p>Does it increase your chances to only specify Stern as your school of choice rather than allowing admissions to defer you to reg campus?</p>
<p>TiMiiT-- I don’t think it’ll raise your chances. If they defer you, it’s probably because you weren’t quite strong enough, so if you only specify stern, you just won’t be admitted. I marked it because the binding agreement doesn’t hold, and you’ve already paid the application fee, so why not?</p>

<p>On Albert, I was wondering if there is any way to tell if they got all of my recommendations and such. The only 3 sections are application fee, transcript, and standardized tests. My school uses naviance to do teacher recs and it says they’re completed, but I’m just really hesitant if they sent. As for my counselor rec, I think that is sent along with my school report which is also sent with my transcript so once they say they’ve gotten my transcript (the only box that is not yet checked) I think that means they got my SR and counselor rec. Just not sure about the teacher recs. Anyone know??</p>
<p>I thought you had to do the teacher rec over common app, but that might just be because my school doesn’t have naviance.
I was going to call NYU in a week or so to confirm that they received everything & I’m not missing anything. Because that would really suck.</p>
<p>My school used Naviance when I applied. Don’t worry about it, if they’re missing stuff they will contact you.</p>
<p>My uncle (we have the same last name) is an NYU graduate…however I don’t see anywhere on the common app/ nyu supplement that asks for legacy. Am I missing something?</p>

<p>I’m really nervous about getting in! My uw GPA is really low but I have a high weighted GPA (and extenuating circumstances that somewhat explain my low uw GPA). I’m applying to Stern… will they still put a lot of emphasis on good extracurriculars and a good essay?</p>

<p>I am applying for Recorded Music at Tisch… I’m so nervous! I spent my summer in their ReMu summer program and fell in love with it. I have a 29 on my ACT, but my gpa is about average to what they expect for grades. I also have a creative sample and an extra two essays for the specific program. I think I kicked the essays butts, but I’m freaking out over the creative sample and my grades in general. One of the adjunct professors at Clive Davis is writing my rec letter. I’m doing basically everything extra that I can to try and get in. On Naviance, I’m directly in the middle, ACT wise, of the people who have gotten into NYU. </p>

<p>How long is your essay on something that intrigues you? I feel like mine is REALLY long, it’s at about 1,400 words. Not sure if I should delete some stuff because it’s so long.</p>
<p>@HelloParis On the common app, there is a 1500 character cap. So even if you try to write more than 1500 characters, the common app won’t let you.
By the way, that essay was long for me, but I was able to trim it down. (Its 1478 characters)</p>
