NYU ED1 Class of 2017 Discussion Thread

Im a stern kid and it still remained stern on albert!

Stern won’t change to LSP only CAS and MCC

@Leilala mine still says no financial aid available. It may be just because I applied to Steinhardt and not CAS as it seems that most of you all did.

@allisonjadee Are you an American citizen? I’m a permanent resident, so I guess that this has something to do with the FA.

did anyone hear back from admissions as to whether or not the lsp redirect was a glitch??

@leilala I am an American citizen.

@magfri I plan to call them within the hour. I’ll let you all know what they tell me.

@magfri @allisonjadee Correkid sent them an email about it and they said we are being considered for whatever had we put in our application. So I don’t think it’s a glitch. His post is on the previous page.

@leggggy I applied to Tisch for photo and imaging, not drama. I had to submit a portfolio, not an audition.

if i applied to stern, and it didn’t change to anything… is that a good or bad thing?

I have to admit, all you guys are probably wonderful, hard working people, but reading all this have been increasing my stress level, my blood pressure probably already exceeded its maximum by this point. But I wouldn’t blame you guys, you guys seem like the students who will end up with a successful life. NYU means so much to me, it symbolizes hope and all the things I have wished for in my life. Words cannot simply explain how much I love NYU. If I get accepted into NYU, I will believe in miracles. The possibility of getting accepted to NYU is what’s keeping me alive. That little speck of hope I still have left is what’s keeping me going. Best of luck to all you guys. Everyone deserves a chance to have their dreams come true. Again, wishing each and everyone of you the best. Until next Tuesday, I will have to say my farewells to the college confidential community. Farewell guys and best of luck! =)

I just called the office of admissions and explained everything that’s been going on. The only thing the guy told me is to “not look too much into the different wordings” that the financial aid page displays and that “since we’re nervous, we’re looking too much into it.” As for some of the CAS applicants whose information on the application status changed from CAS to LSP, he didn’t have an answer, so for that I’d probably go with what corekid said on the previous page.

I applied ED to CAS and also applied to LSP. I did not apply for financial aid and it says “There is no financial aid information found”. Under application status my program still says CAS and my major still says Environmental Studies… So just to be clear you guys think that because nothing changed it is not looking good for me? My stats are below average. SOS

@ErmegerdCawledge I currently have the same fear as you, that’s why I called. The fact that it didn’t change to LSP isn’t bad, I just think it means they’re still considering you for CAS. Those who have had the LSP change I believe are mostly being considered for LSP now, and that’s why theirs changed. As for the “no financial aid information found,” mine still says that as well, and that’s why I’M freaking out, because it seems as if the majority of everyone here has had theirs changed to SOMETHING. But as the guy in the financial aid office told me, I’m just going to try to not worry about it so much. Maybe it is just a “different wording” (I doubt it) but no hope should be lost until next week I guess.

I didn’t apply for fin aid and mine comes up with a chart that says “No self-service access for this aid year.” It also says “2014” under aid year on the far left of the chart, then it says in the middle: Institution “New York University.” A week ago mine said “No financial aid information found” but it was changed…WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? …CONFUSED BECAUSE I DIDN’T EVEN APPLY FOR IT
honestly going insane over this whole thing

mine still says no financial aid information found :frowning: i applied early to stern and i knew i had a very little chance of getting in but meh this is making me feel awful

I don’t want to be negative or anything, but did anyone ever consider that the thing changing to LSP is bad? Because if you didn’t initially apply to LSP, but checked it off on your app, basically it could mean they did not accept you to the original program you applied and are considering you for LSP instead. I’m not sure. Or maybe it means nothing…it sounds more like a glitch to me.

@littlemeow there is still room for it to change. It may be changing based on geographical location and/or when you sent in your app

yeah that’s true. i sent mine in on nov 5th (i live in new jersey, affected by sandy, didn’t have power for a week) so hopefully that’s why.

@littlemeow that could easily be why. I’m from the northeast as well but I wasn’t badly affected by sandy. I believe they downloaded my app on october 27th

I’m confused… I have “Award access not available” for years 2013 and 2012. Is this a good sign or should I have “no self service”???

Someone explain to me what is happening 0_o
