Seriouslyd, I would say NYU is both my first and second choice. To clarify, I’ve applied to Cornell, Binghamton, Indiana, UVA, NYU and BU. Most importantly, I’m from New York. I’m offered admission to Binghamton and indiana up to now. As you could see from my list, Binghamton and Indiana cannot be compared with NYU, both location and ranking. For UVA, it’s quite impossible to be admitted. For BU, they require transfer to take 3 years program, which would give me a bill of 150000, although I might consider. So, my top and dream choices is really NYU and COrnell. For NYU, I save by living with parents, although I would not get campus life like Cornell or others, I get a city. Also, I migrated to New York 2 years ago, I gave up all my friends in my country in search of new network in New York. In these 2 years, I got a new gang of frens. So, although I want to leave my current institution, I still hope to stay in New York. For Cornell, who doesn’t dream of going? It offers campus life, reputation, great financial aid package, and yes, it’s IVY. I worry so so much because Binghamton and Indiana is really not my my first choice.

To be honest, I think I’ve a shot in all institution except UVA only if they neglect my SAT score. I would feel so frustrated if I’m denied due to SAT. I’m too tired to explain my SAT, but I have good enough reason to tell NYU why my SAT score is horrible, and I didn’t submit it to Cornell.

Firebird, I would ask you to consider further about your decision. I would describe you as hitting the jackpot after seeing your FA package. I’ve searched through the forum for NYU FA when I applied, and 19000 in scholarships, grants and work study is a miracle at NYU. Believe me, you hit the lottery of NYU. If you expect more, you shouldn’t have applied to NYU.
For me, I’m ready to pay more than 40000 by loan and family contribution.

Ahhh I would be psyched to get that financial aid package! But of course, it all depends on need, and I’m sorry it didn’t match your needs. Best of luck!

Well I just expected a little more since I’ve had an efc of 0 for two years and my dad has been unemployed for two years. Idk, I feel like I don’t have that safety of taking out so many loans since if I am unable to find a job and pay for them, then my parents will not be able to pay for them for me. I am thinking about appealing…
