Hey y’all! First off, big congrats to everyone who got in — y’all crushed it!

So I just got into CAS a few days ago (woohoo!), and I’m seriously considering making the move. Of course NYU is costly af though, so I need some more time to crunch the numbers and see if I can realistically swing it.

The deadline to accept is the 16th, so my plan is to accept the offer now, buy myself a little time to figure out the finances, and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll just stick around at UTD and keep it rolling.

But — here’s my question: if I accept NYU for now and then in a few weeks decide to stay at UTD, will that cause any issues with my current standing here? Should I give someone a heads-up at UTD just in case, or is it chill as long as I don’t officially withdraw or transfer anything?

Appreciate any advice!

Hey! First off, huge congrats on getting into CAS!

To answer your question: accepting your NYU offer now to buy yourself some time is totally understandable and actually pretty common. Just make sure you don’t withdraw from UTD or send final transcripts to NYU unless you’re fully set on transferring — those are the steps that would start locking things in.

As long as you keep things as they are at UTD and don’t initiate anything formal with NYU (beyond accepting the offer), your standing at UTD shouldn’t be affected. If you want to be extra sure, you could reach out to an advisor at UTD just to confirm, but generally, it’s all good until you make an official move.

Also, out of curiosity — what major did you apply for at NYU? And are you planning to transfer as a sophomore or junior?

To be honest, I think that since waitlists came out…most if not all decisions will be rejections

no i haven’t, have u?

rip :broken_heart: i wished they at least released the decision alr cause its lit the middle of june

it doesnt look good, most likely all rejections at this point, just called them today and they told me to prepare for the worst and from now on all likelihood all rejections what a joke

yes

on the portal they said to expect the decision around late june so dont worry!!

i am utterly hopeless i am gonna kms

if someone have any updates, please let us know :face_holding_back_tears:

Same honestly

I mean to reply to this

Does anyone know if there’s a good chance to get off the waitlist?

Hey guys, just got a quick question: i got into CAS but prolly want to major in Finance as well, or a double major in CAS and Finance (stern obviously). i remember getting into stern as a freshman being hella difficult, but how is it now as a transfer?

it’s not possible as a transfer to CAS for double major.

Stern doesn’t allow double majors across schools. So you can’t do CAS + Finance (Stern)

anyone hear back today?
