just wanted to add my 2 cents. My D was accepted to both NYU and JHU last year. Not for creative writing, but none the less, JHU gave her way more money and I was hoping that she would go there. We visited during the accepted students orientation and the feel was just not right. We were there on a school day and the campus was so hushed and all the students were quiet, preppy and bland. Definitly not my daughters type of people. She is the creative, alternative type and NYU was more of a fit. You really should visit because she knew right away that JHU was not for her. The campus is beautiful and stately. They seem to pay attention to details and if you want sports and a quad, then JHU may be for you. I understand that their creative writing program is one of the best, however on the flip side, NYU may offer you better internship opportunities in your field.
Anyway, my D is happy with her decision to be at NYU.
