Can we get some more hits on the Standardized Testing “waived” status? It looks like a real indicator if it was waived on March 25th…

@BrookstoneOrbit what do you mean? If someone didn’t waive sending their score, would it not be marked as received? My daughter is a tisch applicant who chose to send rather than waive.
@BrookstoneOrbit I think the portal is just wacky, can’t get much from it… the only thing I’ve noticed that changed is first few numbers of account number were X’s and now they are all numbers. Probably means nothing
@BrookstoneOrbit the only thing I would assume is that NYU clearly states that it will take 2 weeks to update the checklists in the portal, possibly longer being that students who waived with that email did so all at once so it took longer for the portal to update. I wouldn’t take it as an indication being that many students chose to still send scores. We only have a couple days left, nothing in the portal will give us a hint unless it is within minutes of decisions coming out.
@BrookstoneOrbit A lot of schools have portal glitches like that and I don’t think they necessarily mean anything. I know for my EA school there was something where things were showing up on the list of “uploaded documents” in the portal for some people even when they hadn’t uploaded anything, and in another one of my RD schools the portal originally listed everyone’s test scores in one section and then that section disappeared for some people a few weeks before decisions came out. Neither thing ended up meaning anything when decisions came out. I’ve also had similar portal change problems w/ 2 other schools I applied to, so clearly this issue must just come up a lot and be an indication that schools may need to do a better job creating their portals lol. I don’t think it’s an indicator of acceptance or rejection so I’d just try not to stress about it.

My D’s SAT scores changed from “Received” to “Waived” last week. No idea why. Why would they be waived?

So far I’ve been rejected from most of my schools. I’m going for an acting major and TISCH is my dream school. In terms of grades and scores, I have a 1410 on the SAT (700 in English, 710 in Math), a 3.89 GPA, rank 175/700ish, been apart of ASB Leadership (student government, student council, leadership, etc, some schools call it different things) and was elected ASB Treasurer this year. Also, I frequently perform shows at my high school and I am apart of my school’s concert choir. At the audition, they told me it was 50/50 (50 audition, 50 everything else) but can anyone confirm that? And what are my chances with what I have? Wish everyone the best of luck!!!
@clip2023 She is applying as a Fine Arts student, so she had the option whether or not to send them. She opted to send them to be included in her application. NYU sent an email back in early January saying that arts applicants who didn’t want their scores to be considered had to send in a form within 48 hours, which she didn’t do.
@artdreamer very weird. Could be a portal thing or admissions decided they didn’t need it.
@gingybreadman - consider that confirmed! Tisch does an artistic evaluation of your audition and sends that to NYU admissions. Admissions considers it as 50% of your application so great grades, scores and ECs may well tip the balance for you. Good luck!

I applied to 20 schools (UChicago (test optional), Wake Forest, NYU, BU, UNC Chapel Hill, Villanova, Lehigh, UPitt, UConn, Fordham, GW, Syracuse, Drexel, Temple, SUNY Polytechic, UD, UMass Amherst, Penn State, Widener and Rutgers). I got into 10 which were Fordham, UPitt, Drexel, Temple, UConn, Rutgers, UD, UMass, Penn State and Widener. Waitlisted by GW and Syracuse and rejected by the rest. I am leaning towards UPitt regardless because NYU is expensive.

@UGG2023 well they supposed to released decisions last Friday so before hand I just right click on view page source and I look at the enrollment decision and I got denied. It is not there anymore now because of the decision date change.
Does anyone know what time decisions will come out on Thursday?
From what I’ve seen, they can be released any time from 4pm-6pm.
Who else is nervous??? Decisions are coming out in 2 DAYS and I want to get into NYU so badly ahhhh
