***NYU Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion***

@collegesplzz yeah I don’t know what that means. The guy who got admitted had New York City Freshman. Im not sure what Non-Renewable Undergraduate means. I heard everyone got it, but then again, I don’t even have the Non-Renewable Undergraduate, and my friend has it by now… so Im not sure what to expect and im not sure if the Non-Renewable Undergraduate is an indicator of anything. I did read one post from last year that said Non-Renewable Undergraduate is something everyone usually gets, and a good indicator of admission if non-renewable undergraduate changes to freshman, but I have not got either :(.

@getaclucy I’ve heard that too, but I don’t even have the Non-Renewable Undergraduate yet, and my friend has that change by now, so I’m not sure what that means.

@bronstein I wouldn’t worry, I just received the “2017-2018” option today around noon. I only had the summer option prior.

it might be rolling out geographically. im from massachusetts and i only have the summer option right now

@yuvanni Good point, for additional reference, I’m from Pennsylvania (Philly) and only have the summer option open as well right now.

Wow! Don’t you all have something better to do than read tea leaves? Spend some time enjoying your remaining months of high school. The decisions will be out soon enough. You’ll all get into an excellent school - otherwise you wouldn’t be competitive at NYU. In any event, you are not where you go to college. Nor will being rejected by NYU prevent you from reaching your eventual goals. Sometimes the perspective of age has its advantages . . .

My housing portal currently only reads “summer 2017.” However, I have three drop down options: NYC, DC, and London (DC was my last preference of campuses) and when I click on the “access application” for NYC and D.C., it takes me to a 14 step process to enroll for housing, but for London it says the application is closed. I’ve seen other people say that they can’t access their housing application and don’t see the steps at all. Also, mine is still at non-renewable undergraduate. I know I’m probably overlooking this, but for my own sanity, does anyone else have anything similar?

@tjraub1011 Mine is exactly the same 100% as yours.

@firetofire I’m from Pennsylvania as well so possibly it is a geographic thing. I just find it bizarre that the update happened on a Sunday.

Yeah I’m from New Jersey and no update.

I don’t know if it has anything to do with geographical regions as mine has shown academic year 2017-2018 for about a month now, and some other people I know have had it for a while as well and we’re all from different regions.

@tjraub1011 I have the exact same thing as you and I’m from NorCal

I’m from SoCal btw

No kids who applied last year said they rolled changes in the housing portal out by state. But like randomly state to state so ya never know when yours may change.

update: i just checked again, and now i have academic year 2017-2018, non-refundable undergraduate, too

@DadofThree111 I agree with you but it’s still fun to dream a little

@DadofThree111 I have to say while I don’t think this much analyzation is healthy, I’ve said people shouldn’t do it before just for their own mental sakes, there is no need to be condescending about it. I’m sure it is stressful as a parent to go through this process but it is even more stressful as an applicant. Of course kids have a favorite school, and there are always going to be kids who think they will “die” if they do not attend that school. I’m sure there always have been. There are plenty of kids I know that are just waiting for decisions to come as they may, but everybody processes things differently and for some the more information they have the more they feel okay. Please accept that there will always be people who read into the every minute detail, and for some it helps them. This process is so awful so let people have what they need.

@DadofThree111 There is no need to judge how applicants cope with the wait for admissions decisions, especially when you are not an applicant yourself. Please don’t come on this thread simply to tell people how to deal with their university related anxiety. I wish all the luck to your child in their journey as an applicant and hope he/she ends up wherever is their first choice but in the future please refrain from passing judgements on the people on this thread and how we choose to deal with our journey as applicants.

Everyone’s getting a little understandably testy. Better than the Berkeley board where they are actually debating politics.

Where are you guys seeing the housing options? After I login to nyu home (or whatever it’s called lmao) I don’t see any tabs about housing?
