NYU Shanghai Class of 2019
So happy right now. AND They’re calling all of us to a fully funded weekend at the Shanghai campus
@sallywoot Congrats!! Wow, accepted to a prestigious school too! You deserve to a cake, lol
@collegeplease123 Thank you
International student here. I got the early acceptance too. YAY!
I got in tooo
So there is early acceptance and another type of acceptance?
@widb15 I haven’t actually received the official letter. It’s coming out on the 27th. I don’t know if there is other kind of acceptance.
Has NYU Shanghai ever increased their financial aid award for anyone. I just got mine and it doesn’t need my fianancial need AT ALL
@sallywoot, in the same boat right here…
@sallywoot me too. This financial aid was so much less than I expected !
@collegedreams11 this is so frustrating isnt it?
@sallywoot, it is indeed…
It looks that there are quite a few of us facing the exact same problem right now.
my albert account says 2016 beside no access to financial aid award does this mean i am in???
If i applied to nyuad as the first pref. and shanghai as the second. Had nyush interview. And did not receive nyush decision yet. Im an international and others from my cuty have been accepted to nyush. Does this mean I got into my first choice i.e. nyuad?
Waitlisted. I am so so disappointed right now. I can only hope
@Maurinquisitive, don’t get too upset. My guess is that a lot of people will refuse their offers because the financial aid packages are too small and many won’t be able to afford to attend.
On the other hand, NYU Shanghai is the easiest NYU campus to get into so I think they might be inclined to raise aid for the students that are already willing to go there…
@Musktard, so far, no success. People have tried appealing, but without much results.
It must be an American thing, but as an international student I am amazed at how much emphasis Americans place on the admissions rate. Some students have even stated that they won’t go to a university to accepts more than 20% of its applicants etc. This is insane. Admission rates at American universities are extremely low because (1) universities encourage everyone to apply; (2) schools encourage students to apply who have little hope of getting in; and (3) the Common App makes it all extremely easy. Have some self respect and don’t worry about the admissions rate!
