NYU Sophomore, ask me anything.

Acesmattb,

I have no idea on their transfer policy. If you’re an american student, I think your scores are valid for a couple years, if you’re an international student I don’t THINK they’ll make you take them, especially if you’re already in college (the tests would be trivial…).

As far as the math goes, yes. If you do not do well on the placement test you do no qualify to take harder math classes so you will have to take “remedial” courses. It’s only logical.

I do not believe CAS offers anything below precalculus however, they call it “Algebra and Calculus”.

Sikjw1305,

Congrats fellow math major! I’m only at the very beginning of the major so I can’t really say but I would say that, no, not really. Granted, some of the “best” minds steer towards math but not a lot of people choose math at all so it’s a relatively small major regardless. NYU doesn’t really care about your chosen major when you apply, you can always change it. If you have achievements in math, I’m pretty sure you’ll get accepted and then you can be happily on your way to declare a math major.

I have no idea what you’re asking me. A junior year transcript for when you transfer in as a senior?

Based on what you wrote, I assume you’re asking me about Graduate Stern admissions. I’m an undergraduate at CAS, you are asking the wrong person.
