NYU students--ivy level?

you’re right. stern is as good as any other school. I would choose it over wharton for personal preferences. wharton is more selective because of alumni connections, etc but there’s plenty of 1500+ SAT kids at Stern who could have easily gotten into wharton, with better luck. I would also take Stern over Columbia any day of the week.

VERY cool! seems like I would fit right in! I also have good stats - but I love stern because Wharton seems a bit too elite. I actually chose Stern over columbia as well :stuck_out_tongue: I have actually wanted to go to Columbia ever since 10th grade, but I suddenly changed my mind senior year and I’m very happy I changed my mind! I love how it’s in the MIDDLE of the city while Columbia is isolated, not to mention larger student body, awesome Stern dean (i love her! shes so nice and open to speak to students.) and a great focused curriculum. I hope I get in cross fingers

True that ^^^^^

i know one girl who definitely could have gone to many, other great universities but chose NYU

Xo akhila ox , you were seriously concerned about a lack of intellectuals at New York University? You must really have recieved some very skewed information about my alma mater, because that notion is the most ridiculous piece of nonsense I’ve heard all day. Trust me, if you do attent NYU, you’ll encounter no problem meeting some of the most intelligent, and just plain interesting, people in your life.

As far as “ivy level” kids, you’ll find stellar kids in every corner of NYU. I’m a Tisch graduate, which is an artistic “ivy” in and of itself, and you are surrounded by the next wave of innovative, cutting edge artists, and it doesn’t get much better than that. But overall, you’re going to find hyper-intelligent kids all over the place, in every nook and cranny, from Stern, to Tisch, to Steinhart. You’ll discover that many kids, yes, even some “good” enough to get into an Ivy based soley of of their academic stats, chose NYU because of its ambiance, its vital connection to the city, its very eclectic student pop, and its awesome range of choice.

yea stern will open doors. the nyc location and the amount of business there is unbelievable. i am applying as a transfer for certain reasons. one of my dad’s co-workers has a bunch of investment banker friends that graduated from nyu. one of his investment banker friends got a 2.1mil bonus last year and the rest make well above average. that is coming from somebody that makes at least six figures has to tell you something about stern.

yes money means everything. if a toolbag ibanker says something, it must be so.

As like other colleges, there are some tools and there are some incredibly smart kids in my classes. But I wouldn’t say the kids in general are ivy-level.
