I have experience- a kid who has been through the process and is currently an NYU Tisch drama student.
I really hope @s2pelix finds a good solution to this distressing situation.

Hi guys, thanks for all the help. I have been discussing with other NYU students on where I mightâve gone wrong in the process and I was able to find a picture of my artistic review application. I originally had put all studios on the form I filled out so this might be the issue.
I selected the MT-only option in the audition room but I believe I mustâve made a misstep in the process because of my contradicting choices. I am not certain though as the studio process is kind of confusing to me but Iâm going to call NYU tomorrow to figure it all out and hopefully receive a response.
If I am correct⊠I wish I had been a little more thorough in understanding what I was accepted for before committing.

Thatâs the issue. Right from NYUâs website
â When you book your artistic review session online, we will ask you if you would like to be considered for placement in all studios or only in the musical theatre program.â
While you work with them, I suggest reach out to #2,3 and 4 to see who will re-admit you. That will likely take time too - and you donât want to waste time so Iâd do that in parallel.

Actually, as one whose kid has been through the process, I know that for virtual auditions, the auditioners ask the kids while theyâre in the group waiting room to individually confirm their choices (all studios or MT-only). I was in the room at the beginning when my kid did the audition virtually and this was one of the first things they discussed/asked the kids. I heard it myself. It was implied that the answer could be clarified/changed at that point.
So thatâs actually the question - what then happens when your answer in the audition room is different than on the application form.
