<p>I’m applying in the same program, I just sent my portfolio in. It was 3 samples, all original screenplays. I think they’re mainly looking for a unique, interesting applicant with a good writing style and a strong understanding of narrative conventions. I’m pretty sure the new portfolio requirements say that all the samples should be self-contained dramatic works with a beginning, middle, and an end. I don’t think excerpts from other works are viewed in as positive a light as original works.</p>
