NYU Transfer Thread - Fall 2010

The suspense is killing me…

First, early May
Then, mid May
Now, late May?..

Come on, I need to know already.

-A

Ive applied to Stern too and my applications still “currently under review”. Its strange that they’re taking this long with the Sternies. Last year they’d sent out pretty much all of their decisions for Stern by this time. I know this is stupid, but I cant help but feel like we’re the awkward waitlisted crowd. I only think so, because we all made it through the initial few rounds of rejections, but then didn’t receive an acceptance letter either when most others did.
Ah, the frustration. x[ Anyway, Im pretty sure Im applying again next year if I dont make it this year, and it’s not like I hate BU, so I guess Im fine.

I got admitted by Stern today!(netid-worked) so excited!

@Dhruvds
have you ever recieved a letter from the enrollment management, which asked you to review your applicant information carefully?

@gummyVV

Yes I did apply to CAS as a Econ major.

Ok
I’ve received my netID on 19th and was told over the phone that I was accepted
and still haven’t received the package yet…aghhhhhhhhhh
Im afraid If i will miss like the deadline to turn in deposits and everything
nyu…is so slow :[

@ydh1021 the deadline to turn in deposits is two weeks after you get your acceptance package :D

I feel for all my sternies out there. HAHA lets just hope that we all get acceptance letters tomorrow. My mom was like… “theyre taking too long. i think you got rejected.” i was like thanks mom for all the support youve given me throughout this process haha. STERNIES LETS GET ACCEPTED ALREADY. ITS TIME TO SHOW THOSE OTHER STERN KIDS WHAT WE GOT…

I kinda feel the same thing as your mom does

haha, my mom literally said the same thing. she was like: let’s just give up. oh come on, the decision will come regardless.

GO STERNIES, or… prospective sternies!

I’ve been reading this thread for days, and have been trying to activate my NYU ID for a couple of weeks. And I am finally able to activate my ID today! is that good news? hope so :)

and i feel like sharing this with you guys. I just emailed admission office at 9:30ish asking if requesting housing affects the decision, and I got a reply 10mins ago saying it does not. some people are still in the office at this late, wow.

I am never able to avtice the NetID…0.0

yours is probably still under review. I am going to call tomorrow morning

I should call tmr

I called them today and a lady said that they mailed out a letter.
Don’t they normally let us know over the phone when students got accepted?
Man…a lady did not tell me a decision according to a policy.
But I heard that many others findout a decision by the phone.
Probablly I’ll receive it in 2 days which makes me nervous. Either package or just small envlope will decide my life.

After they mailed out,
Not telling applicants over the phone = rejection

How do you guys think?

Even though I get rejected I hope you guys to get accepted ! Good luck everyone!

I don’t want to call, but there is time limit

I wouldn’t say that not telling applicants over the phone means absolute rejection. I only found out over the phone because they sent me an email about my offer which never made it to my inbox. His initial response to my inquiry about the decision was, “You’ll want to wait to hear the decision because of what the email says.” In retrospect, I understand that he just meant that the decision wasn’t a straightforward and normal acceptance. My response was, “Oh, so I was rejected?” That’s the only reason I found out over the phone; he didn’t want me thinking it was a mistake when I received my acceptance letter.

And don’t fret about the NetIDs!! Mine still doesn’t work and they accepted me on Friday!!

just called. accepted!

@monetoile what were your stats??? and what school did you apply to ??
