NYU Waitlist 2017 Achievements/ Poly Computer Science

When I go to put NYU wait list page it asks me to list any accomplishment I might have had since I submitted the application. In all honesty I did not really accomplish that much unless you count taking 3rd place at a local chess tournament. What I mean to ask is should I only put big stuff, or can I include small things like raised Calculus grade from B to A?

Since I was wait listed to CAS with a declared major of Computer Science I was wondering if they just decided to stick me in poly? I don’t really feel poly has the same quality as the CAS school. Is this a possibility?

Absolutely put every achievement and accomplishment. Because that is what it is, and at this stage it will help you make your case. And every point that one has more than the other will make a difference. So go for it.

And B to A is a “big” one.

Number 3 in Chess is a big one. It coveys the breadth and of your personality. And I read this somewhere,

"The skills chess offers to those who play it are gold mines. It teaches the faithful players how to approach life. It teaches people that are having dilemmas that there is more than one answer to a problem. While your adversary is looking at the issue through a single point, you as the great chess player that you are, can take a step back and look at the picture through many points.‘’

And if you wish to write another supplement, maybe you should read this and then write about youself to preasent your case effectively,

WHY SHOULD YOU PLAY CHESS? WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

And as far as Poly is concerned it has come a long way. My D has friends at poly and they are a great bunch.

NYU poly will be NYU school of engineering! This is the last year you apply using the Poly application! Poly students will be graduating with the rest of the NYU students and will get a NYU diploma in the end. So I say Poly does have the same quality as CAS kids. It will be more challenging at Poly.
