on the email it says that they will go to the waitlists after may 1st
NYU Waitlist started moving around 4/16, per counselor reports as well as some on CC. Not sure of all the schools involved, but here is one post in the combined waitlist activity thread:

someone on the thread mentioned that only ED waitlist had been moving so far. do you know if this is accurate?
Not sure, sorry. FWIW, I am not aware that NYU has a separate ED and RD waitlist.

there’s not a separate “ed” waitlist buttt the only people who reported getting off the waitlist have been ed applicants & i think only kids from steinhardt and tandon have gotten off. there’s been some spring admits too
so no1 from stern yet?
noo there have been some RD applicants that got off the waitlist but its mostly for steinhardt (less popular majors) and tandon spring admits

DID EVERYONE GET THIS EMAILWe have begun the process of assessing the possibility of admitting students from the waitlist. As has been true for the last several admissions cycles, this year, a significant number of admitted students chose to accept our offer of admission. As a result, we will be admitting small numbers of students from the waitlist over the next few weeks. If we are able to offer you a space to join us, to start in either spring or fall, you will have 4 days to respond to our offer.
We will continue to monitor if any spaces become available in our entering class. We respectfully ask that you do not send any additional statements, credentials, or letters of recommendation to our office.
If you would like to be removed from our waitlist, you may do so through your [ LINK REMOVED) by submitting the NYU Waitlist Response Form again. Otherwise, you can expect another update on the status of our waitlist around June 1st.

ye. but i would take the significant number of admitted students chose to accept part with a grain of salt (i mean a lot of kids probably accepted but probably not as much as they say, or want to make it seem). it would be a pr nightmare for nyu if they openly admitted to lots of kids withdrawing.

Do we know if the housing portal in NYU home is still a valid indicator to watch? It seemed to be right on last year’s CC forum, but I’ve heard some people got off the wait-list with no indicators.
Guess we will find out soon…
What does it say? It’s letting me log in, but it only shows options for summer 2025.
Some people on last year’s thread who got in said they saw a new housing option for Academic Year 2024-2025 or Spring 2025 before they got an official offer.

My daughter noticed the alternate majors choice and alternate campus choice is missing on the Wait-list update form. Anyone else?
yes when you click submit new you can only add additional comments now
when you click on the display for the waitlist form does the green highlighted part say “2025 Regular Decision”? mine was Early Decision I yesterday and it just changed to that today
