**** NYU Waitlist of 2021****

Didn’t get anything yet. Also I do not have interest letter.
…just want to cry

Any news for steinhairdt?

Congrats to everyone got in!

Does Tisch Drama not accepting anyone imply its full?

so that’s it no more acceptances today? and is today the last day to expect anything?

not to be harsh but NYU is the dream school of lots of people so i doubt many will decline, but then again the tuition is expensive so i guess that can be a factor. this is coming from a 2017 regular decision admit

Exactly!! Idk what to think…

I got into CAS today but I can’t access any financial aid info. i would love to go to NYU but im really not feeling the 70k a year cost of attendance and if they can’t match what my other school costs then I will be declining the offer

@caseyxcasey When did you get the result?

@Vesttt i checked albert at around 10 AM EST today and got in, i received the interest letter tuesday

@dixen454 literally same idek what to thinkB

@caseyxcasey Thank you!!

They will still send out a notification if I didn’t get in, right? I still see no change from the waitlist letter on Albert after checking today.

@dixen454 @migno12 the lack of tisch drama acceptances (at least on this thread) scares me but if tisch drama was full wouldnt they have said that in the waitlist updates on the nyu admissions blog? bc they mentioned other schools that were full

@tischhhhhbishhhh no, because it’s possible that tisch Drama is full as a department, but Tisch as a school (other programs) are still open. It’s almost like they wouldn’t update the blog saying just a certain major at CAS was full, they’d wait to say all of CAS is full.

I got an interest email last Tuesday. Should I have gotten my decision by now? Do I need to check Albert to see or do they tell me if I got accepted over email?

holy crap i got a 35k CAS scholarship and federal pell grant which brought the cost down to around 35k and now im really conflicted about my decision

I think everyone still on the waitlist got this email just now:

I am writing to provide you with an update on the status of your application to NYU. We have, thus far, been able to admit roughly 925 students from our waiting list. In the coming weeks, we may be able to admit additional students if we learn that expected students will not join us this fall.
It is highly unlikely, however, that we will admit anyone from this point forward to our Global Liberal Studies Program, our College of Nursing, our School of Professional Studies, or our campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. All of these programs and campuses are at capacity. It is premature to speculate on our other programs at this time but I will provide you with future updates this summer when I have more definitive information to share.
Sometime in June, we will provide you with another update on your application status regardless of whether or not we will be able to offer you admission. I will also update our Admissions blog with more frequent information. I can assure you that we will provide you with a final admission decision no later than August 1. In the interim, please feel free to review our wait list FAQ if you have not done so already.
We respectfully ask that you do not send us any additional materials whatsoever at this time and that you not call or email to inquire about your status on the wait list. There is no additional information we can share at this time. I promise that we will communicate with you again in June.
I realize how anxious you must be about receiving a final decision from us and I cannot thank you enough for your patience. Please know that we appreciate your interest in NYU and we will be in touch to provide closure as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Abbott
Dean of Admissions

@rk1999 Yea I got that too… It’s just crazy that they admitted 925 students, whereas initially they said that they had 325 spots open :frowning:

@AhMesAmis the reason they have been able to admit that many is because many of the people they have offered admission to off the waitlist have turned the offers down due to poor financial aid, accepted into a program they weren’t a fan of, or other reasons. They still only intend to add 325 additional people to the class of 2021, but they will have to admit more than that number because not everyone will accept their offers.
