<p>I’m always impressed by the insights that surface on these threads - guess that’s what keeps me coming back! Appreciate the posts id & pmr. Hindoo, you’re in there too! When it’s good, this is like watching some talented tennis players in action. (Hindoo, you’re sort of like the “ball girl” running out there to retrieve something that got away! haha!).</p>

<p>It even escapes them in selecting a candidate. The Democratic Party is nominating a candidate that got clobbered in **every large electoral college swing state **in the country. Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Clobbered. </p>
<p>Nominate a Democrat with strong appeal in those kinds of states and the national elections are easy. Nominate candidates rejected in those states (even by Democratic primary voters) and national elections are very difficult.</p>
<p>Those are the kinds of representative states that you have to win to get the Oval Office. You have to be able to appeal outside the city center and the Starbucks latte liberal suburbs. Yet, the Democratic Party has constructed a nominating process (extra delegates from those disctricts) that all but ensure nominating candidates with insufficiently broad appeal to win national elections. Look at the county by county results in state after state in the primaries.</p>

<p>Me, too! I used to think I was 100% right, 100% of the time. Now, on deep reflection, and after listening to all of my bright and informed CC friends, I realize that I’m only right about 98% of the time. :(</p>
<p>By the way, pmrlcomm. I tuned in to the Mike McConnell show on Saturday–only caught the last 15 minutes. Of course, that was enough for me to make a judgement that I will cling to forever. (:)) … He was interesting, and certainly no Rush Limbaugh … but still a bit too conservative for me. As ya’ll know, I’m a member of the liberal choir and I love being preached to. C’mon Kentucky, gimme some Air America!</p>
