<p>Perilous, the Music Major forum would be a great place for you to ask your questions. There is a wealth of knowledge there about all these schools. My $.02 would be that Wesleyan purportedly has a good music program/scene where a non-major would have access to the program. While Oberlin no-conservatory students do have access to music classes, I hear they are definitely first-come, first-served to the Con students. Don’t know about casual performance opportunities.
