i’m also taking SAT subject tests for german, chemistry, and retaking math 2 in NOV. god bless me

You guys don’t get it. The answer is ALWAYS in the passage. Let me rephrase it; IT’S ALWAYS SUPPORTED BY THE PASSAGE. I don’t see why There’s so much fuss with this type of question. Firstly, confident & measured is wrong. Measured is definitely spot on but confident isn’t! You’re imagining that he’s confident but there is no evidence supporting this. Genial and ingratiating are both spot on ,thus making it the right answer. He’s friendly (genial )& charming /trying to gain a favor (ingratiating).both are supported in the passage. The other answers are wrong because one of the words doesn’t fit like flattering & obsequious. Obsequious means submissive. He’s not submissive.

@TheCalculator what do you think is the right answer for the gymnast one and what the author thinks about her?

what were the other answer choices for the candid question?

That answer was candid, that was one of the other ones i got wrong but thats only because i didnt know what candid meant… if i knew candid meant frank i would’ve picked it in a second and moved on without a second thought. I thought candid meant the opposite of frank because of it’s other definition “taken informally, especially without the subject’s knowledge” so yeah

I didn’t study for it… at all lol @scarlettlovesivy The CR is straightforward… You can find all the answers by digging through the passages. No stupid subjective SAT questions… answers are word for word…

Grammar is light work, no tricks really (make sure you know the difference between it’s and its, and their, they’re, and there, LOL!)

Math tests on high school concepts going up to trig and such. Straightforward, no complex facades like the SAT throws out.

Science is easy (oddly my lowest section) if you go straight for the questions w/o reading the background info because the answers are on the graphs. The background info helps to an extent but not really.

look at this curve: <a href=“October SAT Curve Critical Reading - SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1231334-october-sat-curve-critical-reading.html
thats good imo

The ACT is so much easier than the SAT in my opinion… i feel like theres less tricks. Im taking it Saturday and hoping for 35+ (well i should say i need 35+ or it doesnt benefit me)

I forgot what I put for that one,but I didn’t put candid. That one was one of the harder questions. It could be candid. I’m not sure.

35+???so basically you’re going to get mad if you don’t get a perfect 36??lol. What’s your sat score currently? 2330?

@TheCalculator No 35+ as in 35 or 36. If i get -2 math like im predicting i will then my superscore will be 2320 so anything under 35 wont benefit me really. I’d take a 34 though

lol holy crap I would love a 2320 superscore… why math why must you destroy my goals and dreams

Yeah i was really hoping i would get an 800 math this time around lmao it was the only score i was trying to improve… but i always make dumb mistakes smh

I was joking. I feel you tho. I’m taking the ACT as well. I messed up on English and science especially. I got 0 mistakes in grammar for my subsection in English but I messed up so hard in the rhetoric portion for who knows what reason. If I get a 33 + . I’ll be cool. Also,an 11 or 12 would be nice too but it seems that act graders grade the essay harder than the sat.

Really hope I got 10 or less wrong on CR because I know I skipped 6 questions exactly. generally if you score in the mid to low 600’s the curve doesn’t have a big effect but nonetheless I don’t want a harsh curve :(

@sat2014 whats your worst case scenario for Cr

@scarlettlovesivy 600. I know I got 13/19 correct on vocab. 95% sure. and I feel that I got anywhere from 6-11 wrong.

just tell me how many you got wrong and how many you skipped total (worst case) and i’ll give you some ranges

i decided its better to be prepared for the worst

I think my absolute worst case scenario is 2240 so ill just check my scores assuming i got that so no matter what i get ill feel ok about it lol
