***Oct 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

2 wrong in math, 750.

Did you really find someone who remembered all 67 CR questions and what answers they put? I didn’t list all the questions - I couldn’t remember my answer for some of them.

I knooow @Mystic7‌ I will never do well on the real thing no matter what :(

Also, what did you put for the Sonny ingratiating/measured question?

670 Reading 8 wrong 6 passages 2 Sentence Completions 1 omit (sc) (UGH)
700 Math 4 wrong (!!!) :frowning:
750 Writing 3 wrong 11 essay (brutal curve but I did okay)

@icepierre‌
Haha my essay was really rushed. That topic was quite difficult. How about you?

I put genial and ingratiating
Just logged in and saw that my dad signed me up for December lol. I’m shaking at the thought of taking it again, but maybe I’ll redeem myself this time…

Hahahahaha that monent when your dad passive aggressively signs you up to retake, subtly telling you that your scores were a disgrace :frowning: same thing happened to me! At least I know a few people who are taking it this time!

@Daminus‌ honestly, I thought I killed the essay. I thought I had gotten at least a 10. Turns out, when I reread it, I made a bunch of silly grammar mistakes due to handwriting that could have been construed as stupidity. I also used mechanical pencil, so that kind of screwed me. It is barely legible…

lmao I did the same thing on the essay. I spelled school as scool twice

hate my life (and my handwriting)

Is there some way we can see the questions we got wrong? I’m curious.
CR: -16, 0 omitted = 590
M: -3, 2 omitted = 700
W: -4, 0 omitted, 10 essay = 720

CR: -2: 800
M: -1: 770 (grr)
W: -1 + 11 essay: 800

does anyone know what the correct answers are to some of those toughest/most disputed questions

I can’t prove that these are right beyond any doubt.

Genial and ingratiating
The kids kicked in the car because they obeyed Sonny
Frequently obvious
Released from was no error
She was candid about achievements
Median question was < or = to 96 or answer choice E

Critical Reading: 750 (missed 4)
Math: 690 (missed 5 -_________________-)
Writing: 780 (9 essay, missed 1)

So depressing that one question and one point on the essay brought me down from 780 to 720. But just further motivation to do well in December, I guess.

Congrats on your score! @Kelmoo

Surprised math had a terrible curve seriously, that was hard, and I’m good at math and like compared to the past two SATs that was hard ok

I could have easily gotten up to 150 more points if I didn’t psych myself out and make stupid mistakes. It’s not the material I didn’t know, it’s my nerves and it SUCKS

@Mystic7‌ Aw, thanks!

CR: 760 (-3…seriously? dat curve)
M: 770 (-1)
W: 770 (-2), Essay: 10
Total: 2300

Anyone have suggestions on whether I should try again for a higher score? I’m content with my CR score (that’s my worst subject) but I feel like I could try to take math and writing again for a higher superscore (got a medium probability question wrong and got thrown off by the essay prompt).

Plus, does anyone know whether colleges care largely on whether one gets a score of 2300 or one with a score like 2360 or something?

@sat7230‌ Once you’ve broken 2200, there is really no purpose in retaking the SAT. At that point, any improvement that you report to colleges will just make it seem like you are overly obsessed with the test and not focused on other things in life. You did spectacularly. Going from 2300 to 2360 is really just minor standard deviation. Colleges, especially elite schools, see it as the same score. I think you should put the SAT behind you and focus on crafting a compelling college application to the schools that you want to go to. Scores are just a number, but you personality and talent are what will get you into top schools. (Just my humble advice)
