October 18 PSAT Discussion

I wasn’t really freaking out. I just kept telling myself “No need to be perfect. Colleges won’t see the score.”

I was fine during the test but I spent the whole night before going crazy…

Got into bed at midnight, couldn’t fall asleep til 1:30, woke up at 4:00 and thought it was time to get up so I brushed my teeth and washed my face and realized it wasn’t time, went back to bed, woke up confused at 5, fell asleep, finally woke up at 7 exhausted as all hell.

This test had me especially nervous because you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes one in a lifetime, you know? :p

the girl in front of me nearly had a mental breakdown. thank god it was after writing though, a.k.a. the end of the test, otherwise i would have been paranoid. poor girl with her bubbling mistakes.

Haha… I mostly spent yesterday night IMing a friend.

I find getting worried about ANYTHING to be such a drain on energy that it’s just no worth it to get super-stressed.

Although my school’s new online program that lets students check ALL grades for every test/homework etc. any time of the day and week is unbalancing that.

yeah I was definitely panicking a bunch during section 1, but then I chilled out for the rest, mostly because after a while, all this standardized testing gets so darn boring

55 for the triangle one - that one took me at least 5 minutes of staring before I figured out why those angles could not be 85 degrees each (if angle T was 10)

i really thought the midpt Q was 1/3…can anyone type up the Q

diligency-- are you talking about the one AE is what fraction of AM? If so, it’s most definitely 2/5

The midpoint question:

A----B----C--------D----E----F
(the letters aren’t the same, obviously)
That’s what you end up determing after you do all the midpoints. And the question was how long is AC of AE; or something like that. So it’s 2/5

2/5

If you add a midpoint of CD you have 6 equal sections. The rest is pie.

it’s ironic that ‘histrionics’ kept his cool during the test

I don’t know the problem exactly; it was too long to remember :P

So far I got these questions wrong:

SC:
The one with the machine
The one with animal predators

Passage-based:
I dunno, but the passage with the mind filling in things was very tough.

Writing:

The Easter Island q.
I think I got the Egyptian/Roman one wrong.
Possibly the Chavez one.
Possibly the VP paintings one. Did we ever conclude what the correct answer was?

Math:

The car price
The max length of the two other angles
a/c
The term question
The green cube question
I think the one with the two digits out of a four digit number being blank or whatever.
Definitely more.

Oh boy. December is a long way off. :frowning: I need to know my scores!

strangeindianfoo: kept her* cool
but i agree haha

VP Paintings = no error.

People were saying the “their” was ambiguous but I really don’t think so

There was a SC about animal predators?

4-digit question. Did the question state one of the number had to be 6 or AT LEAST 6?

What will -3 on a math section yield?

^ Had to be 6. Answer to q was 14. Yeti you must not have accounted for the overlapping 1.

SC about animal predators answer = scourges…innocuous
