October 2006 - SAT Math Thread

for the commission one I remember getting 28,000 as an answer… now 280,000… anyone remember what the question was? I’m not exactly sure though, I just remember a 28 in the front.

I’m almost positive it was 28000…it’s just that whoever posted it first said 280k and everybody else was like “yeah, that’s what I got too”…you’re good

umm no guys; k was in all answers

hm yeah the variable k, but I think when I plugged in to check I got 28,000 or something. Wierd… but yeah I thought you guys meant 280k as in == 280,000.

whatever

okay…rounding down…lets say i get omit 6ish questions and 2 wrong…what would this be???

round down…i want to expect the worst…so i wont be too mad

lol, 280k as in k is a variable

The answer was 280k. The question was this. Say a car salesman sells two cars for 14000 each. What is his commision from both of the cars if he get
k% commission of the price.
So two cars sell for 28000 and multiply that by k/100 and you get 280K. I bet you this is the correct answer.

To the guy who omitted 6 and missed 2: 650 should be the low-end of your range

Do you guys think I can get a 750 with a 2 wrong/ 1 omit

According to the blue book, that raw score would correspond to a scaled score of 700-780. This test was at least somewhat harder than normal, so one would assume that the curve would be slightly more generous than average. Therefore, yes you could score 750, it’s even likely that you WILL score 750

Could someone give me some of the numbers and parts of the question in the problem with the shaded rectangle inside of a triangle?

Thanks

people say 50; but i don’t know.

what would the score be for a 3 omit, 3 wrong, and 3 wrong on the grid-in? please say at least over 600. i did so bad on the math i want to kick myself.

Oh yeah. Don’t worry about it. I would say you will get a 620.

it is 50
(10 char)

Hey does anyone know the question with the circle inside of the square…i think the sid eof the square was 6 and you had to find the shaded area

What was the answer…i think it was 18?

does anyone remember what exactly did the wxyz question said? I mean i got the equations but my teacher said that there must be something else in the direction because she couldnt figure it out either.

this question was discussed earlier, so check the previous posts.

It was 5940
x = w + z + y
w = Y + 1
z = Y - 4
I THINk this was it.

yup gyros, that was it.
