Does someone have an answer for the wxyz question. I’m working it out and both of them are correct (or incorrect, as the question wanted them to be).

And what was the problem for this answer? 2.5 y=(k-1)^2

@mascara it was like “Given the equation y=k(x-1)^2, find the constant k if a point on the graph is (3,10)”

@Mascara for y=k(x-1)^2 for 3, 10, the answer was 5/2 or 2.5

@Mascara - wasn’t the question:

2.5=(k-x)^2, where you had to plug in a point that they provided?

Edit: Nevermind I think it was what cortana said.

Thanks guys; I couldn’t remember what it was and thought I had skipped a question or something. Why does no one remember the wxyz question, though DDDD:

@Mascara
Maybe you had a math experimental section.

I had two writing sections in a row (4 and 5 or 5 and 6)… someone please tell the first writing section was the experimental one? Or is experimental the second one…I don’t remember if the skateboard one was first or second

@poohbear94
The skateboard was NOT experimental. I had that section (section 6 I believe) but I had an experimental reading section.

The skateboard was NOT experimental, since I had it.

@bob12345; I thought that too, but someone told me that the wxyz question was not experimental.

I got a lot of dirty stares for laughing during the test when I read the word “Cocksureness”. sorry, i know im really immature…

@Mascara
Do you remember any additional info besides just four letters wxyz? Even the context might help me remember, but I’m quite sure I had no problem like that.

wxyz was not experimental… i had that section:O

Btw, how bad is it to mess up a fact in the essay? -_- Do they grade mostly on flow/structure/etc or the actual facts/content accuracy??

wxyz on a number line.
w= -1.5
x=-0.5
y=0.5
z=1.5

And it wanted a false statement?
I was stuck between two, ran out of time, guessed.

@Mascara
Oh I believe it was E either z/w^2 or w/z^2.
It was realizing that squaring any quantity will result in a positive value

E?
YES.
I think today is a success.
Still on track for that 2300. >:D

Im just hoping for 1500 + Dont care about writing.

Don’t worry…ETS definitely does not grade based on accuracy. My last essay (11) was a bunch of bull about a fabricated historical event and some fictional movies… :D

lol 1500 meaning CR+M? or all 3? o.o

oh 1500 CR/M haha i dont care about writing. i still look at it like the Old SAT as do many colleges
