@werewolf2016 It really doesn’t matter that much I would rather have a 34 composite and 23 writing than a 30 composite and a 36 writing
Got a 36 in writing somehow. I have never prepared for any ACT writing and just wrote it like an AP Lang Synthesis essay with some random references thrown in. It was 2 and a half pages by the way. Just make sure to quote the perspectives and really discuss what they are talking about then spin off of that (qualification). Good luck!
I ended up getting a 21 on the ACT essay. This doesn’t make much sense to me since I scored a 31 in English and 35 in Reading. When I took the September ACT, I got a 25 using no format. Yet I got a 21 on the October ACT using an actual format with historical examples. I’m honestly hoping colleges won’t take too much from the ACT essay and actually pay more attention to our personal statements.

WTF is up with writing?!?! I got 8 on all sub sections for writing. What are the sub sections scores you guys got for writing to get a score of like 28-36 (only for writing)?
11/11/11/11 was a 33 on writing.
12/12/12/12 got a 36 on writing
11/11/11/12 was 31 in September ACT.
WTF I got 10/10/10/10 and it was a 29…how?? I thought it would be a 30 
It seems ridiculous that the writing score does not follow a standardized curve. Why should a 12/11/11/11 be a 31 in one sitting, when an 11/11/11/11 is a 33 on another? I don’t think one prompt is harder than another. Seems very arbitrary, on top of an already suspect grading system.
I got a 10/11/11/10 for a 32 on writing. Based on the horrid scores I’ve seen other people receiving, I’m perfectly content with this score and my 35 composite.
Yeah the ACT writing scores really seem to be too arbitrary to be taken seriously
