***October 2015 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@IvyHopeful98 I dont really remember what answer i got but i do remember finding the difference between the last point on one line graph and the last point on the other line graph

is that what u did?

@meeee1 For that one the answer wasn’t the last two points it was in the middle somewhere. The last two were the second largest difference I believe, at 6, while the two points in the middle of the graph were 6.5.

What did you guys put for the one in the improving paragraph section that said something like:

Which of the following best improves the sentence?
Therefore, my mother was not as happy about the arrangement as i am. Something like that

Im pretty sure i got this one wrong. I remember crossing out 3 options. The final two options were either to change “the” to “this” or put “as I would be” instead of “as I am”. I ended up picking the first one, but now I’m starting to think that it was one of the ones i crossed out. None of the options made any sense. Plus “the” to “this” doesn’t really change anything, so that’s probably wrong.

@IvyHopeful98 If i remember correctly, werent they asking for the difference between the two points when the graphs increased the most? I thought they increased the most at the end

@IvyHopeful98

But you are probably right idk.

@meeee1 No, they were asking for the largest difference between the two graphs, which ended up being somewhere in the middle

@IneffableMind I think mine was section 3 too. Hopefully I’m right, because I think I got 800 math if experimental was inverse (didn’t have time to review it)

When are scores supposed to come out?

oct 22 around 5am for most people

can someone answer my question about the improving paragraphs. pretty sure that was the only one i got wrong in writing.

Do some people get different experimental sections?

@CCswami
Therefore, my mother was not as happy about the arrangement as i am.
wasn’t there an option that changed the first “was” to an “is” or the last “am” to was? They need to be in the same tense. I don’t remember what I chose, but I don’t think it was either of the ones you mentioned

@CCswami Wasn’t there an option involving the word “therefore”? I think I chose that one.

I think there were two questions involving therefore. For one of them, the answer was “delete therefore” but for the one @runners is referring to I think it referenced the line “Therefore, my mother was not as happy about the arrangement as I am” and underlined “therefore” and asked which would best replace the word therefore and the choices were like A) Nevertheless B) Consequently C) However etc. but I don’t remember the exact answer. If anyone can remember the answer choices I could probably remember what I put.

Same here, but I didn’t leave it blank.

@Runners I’m not sure what the options were, but I must have crossed out the three for a reason. Im pretty sure u r not supposed to delete therefore, so that’s probably wrong. If one of the answers was to change the was to an is, I probably didn’t pick that because the rest of that first paragraph was in past tense. idk

Does anyone remember the other 2 choices for this question exactly?
Also, what did you guys get for the long 2 passage question in which we had to choose between “cast doubt on” and “disprove”? I picked disprove, but I feel as if that diction is too extreme.

@grunterbaum1 Everyone did

The answer was to delete therefore.

how come? The sentence before said that the mother didn’t like the room mate matching. Therefore (lol), therefore marks a good transition into that sentence because it continues the logical flow. Idk im probably wrong just my thoughts.

@CCswami
Therefore was not at the start of the sentence. The actual sentence was, “My mother is therefore not as happy about the arrangement as I am.” This is not a good way to start a new paragraph because the therefore is ambiguous.
