***October 2015 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@Smargent I have checked 4 dictionaries for definitions of finicky and every single one listed dainty as a synonym. I disagree with your assessment but I’m obviously biased lol.
Will we know by the end tomorrow if any questions were repealed? And will we know which answers were correct afterall?

@pokemon1: Hopefully they understand that we don’t want any lawsuits or anything, I think they should just rethink that question, that’s all.

@ambitionsquared I don’t think we’ll find out about removed questions yet.

Good luck guys! I’m shooting for 2250.

Definition:
Finicky - 1) fussy about one’s needs or requirements 2) showing or requiring great attention to detail
Dainty - 1) delicately small and pretty 2) fastidious or difficult to please, typically concerning food

Although they can be synonyms, I do think that in the context of the passage, finicky was the better option.

I think I chose finicky, but what was the original word in the passage?

i think we find out about repealed questions once the score details come out. Like how many easy/hard questions. If the total isnt the 67, then we know one of them was repealed

@pokemon1 When do score details come out?

Does anyone know what exactly is being released in the score report tonight/tomorrow morning? Like just the score out of 800 on each section? Or does CB also release how many questions we got wrong in each section + the essay TONIGHT (I know it all eventually gets released)?

i believe a few days after tomorrow

@JuicyMango In one of your prior posts you mentioned “The Critical Reader” by Erica Meltzer as the book for writing but I believe you meant “The Ulitmate Guide to SAT Grammer” by Erica Meltzer. The former is for critical reading.

What is the difference between the score report and the score details?

do the scores come out around 12 AM EST?

@lethe0125

5 AM EST

Hoping for atleast a 1930  hope everyone gets what they want

I’m tempted to set an alarm for 5 AM… they send out an email right? I’ll probably just turn my ringer all the way up and if the email wakes me, so be it xD

@awesomesaucee: Haha your right, I’m so stressed out by the SAT scores coming out today and everything that I can’t even think :P.

The Critical Reader = Critical Reading
The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar = Writing

Oh btw, “grammar” not “grammer”…I also make that mistake a lot

@JuicyMango do you think the curve is going to be extremely rough or nah?

@theonthe: Do you remember the particular sentence in question, so I can verify that finicky is indeed better used due to context? Or anything at all about that passage that would enlighten me??

The final stretch
It is upon us
'Tis yet again
That I feel unsatisfied
And in wait of a score
Not worthy of the competence
My mind carries

As conjecture in the bravest form
I shall predict my coming storm:

Highest: 2100
Lowest: 1950

And shall my worries relieved be
Before my foot I step
Onto the school grounds.

Goodnight. I’ll update tomorrow.
