By the way I know some people had trouble with writing. I got an 11 essay if anyone wants to read for help for November?
@vook99 - thanks, I’d love to read it!
@vook99 I got a 9 essay, so I’d really appreciate hearing your strategies on how you scored so well.
Reading is absurd. I missed 17 on my first test and got a 640. On this one, I missed 9 and got a 670. 8 question difference, but only 30 points? Literally epitomizes my anger toward CollegeBoard. No wonder everyone is swapping to ACT.
@CCswami
Delete therefore was correct. All I missed was an identifying errors question.
The curve suggests that a big reason you missed fewer questions was that it was an easier test, though, is the thing.
I’m getting the QAS test…it takes forever to come, but when it does, I can tell you guys the right answer to any question that you may have.
I’m wondering if my SAT score is good.
As my first SAT exam, I got 700 reading, 800 math, and 730 writing.
Is 2230 good enough for a high school freshman?
@Mminjjae On another thread, you said, “And yes, I’m a high school senior…” and “Took it on my Junior year and got an 800, lol”
If you are actually a freshman, that’s obviously phenomenal. Even if you’re a senior, that’s still a stellar score. Congrats!
I’m wondering if my writing score is correct. I got a 11 essay and missed 3 in the multiple choice. It was ONLY 730. Anyone can confirm?
@CT2015
Yes your score is correct. The writing curve was brutal this time. I got 2 multiple choice wrong and a 10 essay and got a 750.
Somebody please dm me if you got the Q&A service!
Me too!
@RHSclassof16 hey sorry i was just looking through this thread today, did you actually get a 690 writing score with a 9 on the essay and 4 multiple choice wrong on writing??? I am extremely upset because I got a 9 on the essay as well and I only got 4 m.c. questions wrong and received a 680. Any idea how this is even possible??? Not hating on you just want to know how come there is a discrepancy. The main reason I care is because I got a 2140 and those 10 extra points would have bumped me up to a 2150, which was my personal goal. I know it doesn’t make too much of a difference but still. I got 2 IMPROVING SENTENCES questions wrong, 1 IDENTIFYING SENTENCE ERRORS wrong, and 1 IMPROVING PARAGRAPHS wrong. If you can please confirm that you did in fact get a 690 with 4 wrong. Thanks in advance
@boji98 Yes I got 4 wrong (Just to clarify they were wrong, not omitted) and a 9 on the essay.
The type of question I got wrong shouldn’t matter as far the curve is concerned but I got 1 Improving paragraphs question wrong, 0 identifying sentence errors wrong and 3 improving sentences questions wrong.
@RHSclassof16 that’s really weird do you know how it is possible that I got 10 points lower with the exact same breakdown, 9 essay 4 wrong? I know panda calculator isn’t the most accurate thing but I just checked and according to it there is only a 9% chance for me to get a 680 lol. Is there anyone from CB that i could ask about this or…
@boji98 There were two different curves depending on the essay prompt, but both were pretty brutal. I don’t think there was any mistake in the score you got, but you have nothing to lose by emailing CB. However, I don’t really understand the significance an extra 10 points would give you. Maybe I could understand someone wanting an extra 10 points to go from 1990 to 2000 or from 2390 to 2400, but I don’t see the significance of a 2140 to 2150. Congrats on a great score.
@boji98 Tbh I have no idea why you got 10 lower. Did you take an alternative version of the test or something?
@RHSclassof16 nope lol i took the reg oct one in NYC my essay prompt was about comprise being necessary for leaders or something along those lines. Maybe the diff essay prompts were scored differently or possibly a slightly diff version of the test?
@ambitionsquared yeah you’re right it really doesn’t make that much of a diff but i might end up calling or emailing them just to see. It’s more of a personal goal that I had which was 2150 and i was bummed about missing it by 10 points but at the end of the day doesn’t matter too much. And thanks for complimenting my score lol.
@boji98 Yeah I live around the San Diego area and my essay prompt was about being taught many skills or something like that.
