***October 2015 SAT (US Only) Thread***

Don’t worry, the answer was 30.

@ekl2498
Do you remeber the actual numbers. Was it going from 6.5 to 8.5 or 6 to 8.5?

@MasterMaestro I did for the most part

@concreteolives Shoe question went from size 6 to size 8.5

@concreteolives. I don’t remember the actual numbers. I just remember that for every half shoe size, the length increases by 1/6. If I remember I’ll tell you.

@concreteolives shoe question went from size 6 to size 8.5

Guys I thought this October’s SATs were really easy

10 & 1/3 is definitely correct.

@MasterMaestro I thought CR was much easier than usual but writing was difficult for me. Math was not difficult for me but it was more difficult than June’s math.

@ekl2498
I probably messed up. Now I am at -3 for math. :frowning:

@concreteolives @ekl2498

It said for every half shoe size, the length increases by (1/6).

The question asks what is the length of a size 8.5 shoe if a size 6 shoe has a length of 9 and (1/2)

9.5 + (5/6) = 10(1/3)

Does anybody else remember the other answers for the f(x) g(x) that had the answer of -4? I can’t remember what my answer was.

Any suggestion on when to send October SAT scores for seniors, who are applying EA - deadline Nov 1st? Better send now or wait till result on Oct 22nd? Also does it make any difference, other than just satisfying ourselves that know what we are sending, as school pick only best score from all the tests. What will people do who has Nov 1st deadline? Are they waiting till Oct 22nd for result to be out and rushing it then or sending it now taking advantage of 4 FREE scores?

So can I disregard the Writing section if I scored well last time and if they superscore everything else?

@awesomesaucee
Ok thanks. I don’t know how I misread the question.

Are you guys ABSOLUTELY sure that the <500 was integers only? Cause I think I’m going to cancel my scores if it was. -2 will probably get me 740

What is the consensus if it was at all mentioned on the reading question which asked how the author of (internet) passage 1, would view the opening paragraph of (internet) passage 2. I’ve heard something along the lines of perfect description of his experience, and I believe I’ve also seen misrepresentation of the drawbacks of the internet. I chose neither, and said that the author of the first passage would regard the paragraph as understating the effects of the internet.
My conclusion was that “perfect” would be difficult to prove especially when the paragraph seemed to recapitulate all of the dilemma the first author experienced in rather blunt and apathetic sentences. As to the second, I don’t believe it was a misrepresentation so to speak, as the paragraph seemed to list the problems the first author experienced, however, it seemed he was attempting to downplay the concerns, almost mocking them by speaking in such a cursory manner about something the author of the first believed was a real “struggle”.
Any opinions?

Anyone get a math section for equating???

@Lesender10 I am 100% sure. I missed that at first and then realized it like 1 min before time was up. -2 will most likely be a 760.

Yes it was definitely integers only. I know that 100%.

Also, I hear people talking about cancelling scores, which creates a question for me…

If you cancel scores, does that actually mean you can take the same SAT again in one month? I seem to be getting that vibe around here, but it seems too good to be true.
