@ekl2498 that was what i put too and that was the only cr passage response i was still unsure on !!! The only thing i left blank was that ramification question. That was by far the hardest vocab on the test
@KillerKiwiJuice Yes! That’s what the gullivers one was!
I think it’s not comparing shipwreck… well, at least author is not referring to that in order to …
i chose “difficulty to help” … i remember the last sentence of that paragraph (after he said guilliver) indicates the difficulty (i forgot the wording though)… also he said "clumsy and giant, as guilliver … "clumsy"could be an indication …
@ekl2498 Yeah I also put details were relatively unimportant because I couldn’t find any explicit evidence in the passage for the other answer choices… Do you remember what you put for one of the atlantis passage questions about plato’s philosophical work or something? I think some of the answers for that question were bearing little importance and largely due to its doscussion of atlantis it had popular appeal
Plato caused popularity, you can also look that one up, its factual
I also put Gulliver felt helpless in trying to help the organism.
The question asked why the author used “Gulliver” to describe the guy.
The main thing about Gulliver is his size, and because the guy was so big compared to the organisms,
he had great difficulty in helping it.
The shipwreck has nothing to do with the size, its merely an effect of what happened. It doesn’t
describe why the author specifically used the term “Gulliver” to describe the student.
@kentonpalmer Awesome! I put counterparts for that one but I was quite hesitant about that. Oh, I remember what I put for the zen one now…I put rationale.
@kentonpalmer So what did you put for the plato question?
Rationale was also right !! I cant believe reading was better than my math this is crazy and amazing
plato i put as he incited its popularity can anyone concur ?
@ScienceGeekGirl Yay I feel better about that one now.
I’m unsure about what I put for the Plato question…if I saw all the choices and the exact wording of the question I might be able to decide but popular appeal sounds familiar.
@kentonpalmer Rationale vs origins is still up in the air. I chose origins as did a lot of really smart CC members.
I think the Plato one was “it had no effect on its popularity”
The passage specifically referred to how even though it started out as from Plato,
its fame got to where it is now from its own merit.
@kentonpalmer Incited or beared little effect? I don’t think incited was even an answer but the opposite was and that’s what I put.
I’m praying for an 800 on reading lol. Someone please give more info on the Plato question.
For Plato my answer had something to do with “continuing the discussion”
@ekl2498 So the line the question was referencing said something about how atlantis was popular based on its own merits or something like that and the question was asking about plato’s tale of atlantis and I remember two answer choices were plato’s tale had little bearing on the popularity of atlantis and another one was the tale had popular appeal largely due to its discussion of atlantis
Oh i wasnt stating an exact answer just something similar & i thought people were sure it was rationale?
@kentonpalmer well, i still think answer should be “little bearing”. 'cuz in the passage, it says "pluto wrote it … it was so attractive/etc that it remained without pluto … "
@ekl2498 The question referenced a line that said something along the lines of “the myth was created by Plato but was spread by word of mouth” Then it asked what does this line imply about Plato? Answer was he had little effect on its popularity.
