@kentonpalmer That was also my logic because Plato started it and the other answer choice about the discussion of Atlantis emphasizes that it was popular not due to plato himself but because of the story of atlantis which contribute to popular appeal @ekl2498 Also did you put analytical or emphatic?

@ekl2498 Thank god. That was a pretty difficult section, I had to skip three questions.

But the question was about if he had a bearing on its immense popularity. He may have been responsible for creating the legend, but when people think about Atlantis they almost never think of Plato and his book which started it all, so while it would not exist without Plato, its popularity is independent of him.

Was the reading section with Africa the experimental section?

why is “dismissive” correct? both “incredulous” and “dismissive” are negative attitudes. I think it’s more “incredulous” since 1)the choice for the other question: the author casts doubt on = incredulous 2)it also gives a paragraph of the opposing views. clearly it doesn’t dismiss it just highly doubts it.

Plato had little effect on the popularity of Atlantis according to the passage.

@supercalif I think incredulous have a vibe of “really? why the hell will you do that” kinda like disbelief, so I think it is wrong as the author was simply saying “no it is not true”

When you dismiss something you do it on a basis or reasoning. The author’s basis was that the scientific evidence did not back them up at all. It’s not that he was unwilling to believe it, it’s just that he believes there is a rational basis to dismiss it.

Does anyone remember the question with the Azeleas , Roses , and the the other type of plant , and they asked how much they would make ? if they sold the same amount of 2 of them ?

I dont understand how people think dainty could work for fussy? Can someone explain his rationale

Guys so was it genuine confusion or ominous?

It was 555 i think & okie i shall submit so now im at 1 omit 1 wrong cr

@KillerKiwiJuice my experimental was awful. I skipped like 3-4 questions on that.
@ScienceGeekGirl I put analytical I believe.

I too put analytic && i said it was ominous. It sounded weird but the others made no sense

Analytic and for the internet passage, ominous due to “THINK”

supercalf: I think it’s incredulous as well. Wasn’t the author of passage 2 saying that the experiences of passage one was not credible because it was based on personal experiences rather than through scientific research. Dismissive sounds right too though, so I’m not too sure.

@xcalaber that was $555

@Darknesz215 well, I still think “incredulous” could be correct, although I’m not 100% sure. dismissive = “unworthy of discussion” or according to marriam-webster "a : to reject serious consideration of
b : to put out of judicial consideration " which is kind of too much… since author still put a whole paragraph on the opposing view. (the author still discusses and considers it)

“incredulous” = “not willing or able to believe”

@ekl2498 i think almost all of my answers were the same as yours so hopefully we are right. Which ones did you get wrong and what was your last cr score ?

I said ominous, analytic, and 555.

I’m 100% sure about 555 for the flower question.

Ominous and genuine confusion both seem like they could work.

Analytic was the most solid answer imo.
