October 22 2011 ACT Reading Discush

But it WAS that inspiration could come out of the most mundane circumstances… He explicitly stated it which eliminated the answer choice that one had to live a literary life in order to publish literature. I’m 100% sure about that answer because I double checked it. :P

Huh. Must have not caught that, then.

Yeah the statement about mundane circumstances immediately followed the description of Nan’s restaurant and family or something like that

Well, that’s depressing. It seems like the only section I’m getting a perfect 36 on is the english, even though Reading and Science have been my usuals for that.

I’m really hoping there’s a curve on Science :O

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, we all know that the ACT HAS NO CURVE (especially science). its more of an anti curve because you could drop 2pts by only missing 1 question.

Honestly, I think there was a curve last month. I completely bombed two passages in Science and got a 35

hmmm. thats odd because i thought I aced the science last month and got a 33

what was the answer to the question about that guy studying foxes and what his main goal was or whatever or what he studied?
And what would be the result of omitting the part in the fox passage in which people were expressing their opinions about the foxes?
And the carbon sink turned into a carbon something to transmit more carbon into the atmosphere?

There are some red book tests that show like 38/40 correct on science is a 36. Then again, some other ones drop 2 points per question wrong, so ya never know. It seems like this test’s science was difficult for most people, though I thought it was easy.

I think it was difficult for people who haven’t taken X class recently. If it was Junior year for me, I’d still remember my chem stuff from sophomore year. But I didn’t know a single thing about homogenous/hetero.

Did you guys get a lot of Bs and As for the last two passages?

^my last 4 or 5 answers were A
