October 4 SAT Critical Reading

I think wry was A or b, and d was ernest.

By the way, do you guys think that -1 will still be a 800 in CR?

i didn’t put genious  can’t remember what I put, though.

OF COURSE -1 would still be an 800.

People read the discussion. We’ve discussed why it’s industry.

And how people misread passage one in thinking that it said they don’t make a lot of books. It was implying it’s rare for them not to have at least 2 books on shelf each year.

i think the extraterrestrials, earth theories was that they had extreme views.

correcft or incorrect?

no…people who got industry as their answer got sucked in completely by the second authors view

did u get get Carp??? for the fault finding one… also , do u guys remember other choices for the nuance Q? i was sure i picked the right answer, wasnt nuance, but now im worried =[

heres the dilemma:

Both passages make some mention of an “industry” around shakespeare; though only passage 2 mentions it explicitly.

Both passages explicitly state that shakespeare is a genius.

JJJJ1234 hit the nail on the head

Yeah, I think that’s correct. :)

The extraterrestrial theories are extreme views… I mean.

Heres how I saw it:

Passage 1 discusses the mystery behind Shakespeare’s genius

Passage 2 discusses the industry that has evolved as a result of Shakespeare’s genius.

One question on the women voting was either ‘they have same beliefs as husbands’ or ‘they will vote independently of husbands.’ which was it?

Preach it, JJJJ1234!

I think it’s “they will vote independently of husbands.”

I know it is pretty stupid or presumptious for me to tout this, but I will. You’re welcome to call me out.

I got 800 in CR for my last SAT in December and a 36 for Reading for the ACT in June. I know it doesn’t mean I’m infalliable, but it does show a pretty decent track record with reading interpretation. Writing/English is a whole nother thing.

*Is there a way to say that in written form.

it was they will have same beliefs as their husbands because the other hcoice was acutally “women will have the same beliefs as men” the reading referenced wives to husbands specifically rather than women to men

Well pgtori, you can get 2 questions wrong and still get an 800. I had a score in the high 7s first time, no practice.

And yes, it was low of you to go there.

woops i agree with akitorin i worrded my response poorly

we need to consolidate/summarize!!!
