October 4 SAT Critical Reading

i’m another for industry.

also, for women’s suffrage, women wouldn’t vote independently of husbands is what i put.

Yes.

For other people, don’t “read into” things on SAT exam. For the painting passage, the “literal” answer seems correct to me. I just didn’t overanalyze that part. Same with the cosmopolitan and pragmatic question. It is just simply cosmopolitan. Don’t read into it.

she resisted accolades and recognition of her work b/c she was more focused on her contributions to science.

yes–i think it was ‘natural’ art nouveau jewelry was patterned on ‘natural’ themes.

for women’s suffrage i do that they wouldn’t vote independently of husbands too.
it was the only answer choice that included ‘husbands’ the others sounded great,…but only referred to ‘women.’

oh yeah----if social groups object to specific laws they can mobilize to have them repealed.

i don’t remember the coincidence one—was it the monkeys reconciling?? that was ‘truce’

not coincidence… it was truce

and women wouldn’t vote independently of husbands is right

was the re-wilding one experimental?

instead of the hypothetical situation for the car, couldn’t it be a logical fallacy?? Cause he was trying to show something THROUGH a hypothetical situation

okay now this my real last vocab question… question about accomplishments? im pretty sure i got it right since that answer sounds obvious but i just wanna be sure

i don’t think so—i felt pretty certain about that one—a hypothetical scenario.

yep–i got the same–it was something about a woman in science and her accomplishments,…I forget the details though.

there was no flaw in the logic, neither was there a fallcy… it wasnt logic, it was putting the blame on something else.

okay so did anyone else find that cr section really hard? what do you think the curve would be?

couldnt the answer for sentence completion about insects being a barometer have been observing… population? The question was something like this. Insects are a like a barometer, by (observing) the insects and their (population) the scientist can learn more about the ecosystem.

no–the one about the insects was definitely
‘registering’ and ‘environment’

the scientists were able to study the insects and learn about their ecosystems b/c they acted as barometers—they registered changes in the conditions of their environment.

lol, think I got at least 3-5 wrong…anyone have a score prediction for that?

I actually didn’t think it was too hard. I had a tougher time with Math actually. I nearly ran out of time on the first math section. And I got very stuck one of the end of section questions

6 < sqrt n< 10

ack!

it was population.
after the second blank the scientist used these data (referring to # of incects) to determine the enviroment.

@anita i’ve answered that question in the OCT SAT math thread … it’s 62… 99-37

AND it was registering environment… the barometer scientists insects question

does anyone remember the SC q where the answer is “accomplishments”? what are the other choices?

wasn’t she glad to be over her guilt?

No. The guilt was mentioned near the end of the passage. It was something about cultural differences with her parents
