Jason Day the golfer.
I forgot to add James Spader (Pretty in Pink days). In college, my husband was often mistaken for him.
Criminal Minds’ Matthew Gray Gubler
Not so much a crush as I wish I knew him because he’s so cute and personable, Michael Strahan. I don’t know that that would be “offbeat” though. He’s pretty famous.
I always had a fondness for short nebbishy Jewish guys like Michael Tucker in L.A. Law or Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate.
Edited to add: And Paul Simon.
Valerie Bertinelli …pre and post Eddie Van Halen.
The only real adult celebrity crush I had was Colin Firth after I saw him in Bridget Jones’s Diary. First time I saw him. I fell hard, and watched everything I could get my hands on. Not sure if it was him or Mark Darcy. I’m over it now, it was my mid life crisis. Joined an online fan club, watched BJD about 20 times. I was even jealous of his wife, lol
John Stewart, dark coloring, smart and funny is my jam
I also love Colin Firth but for me at least , he fits more into the “handsome” category than “offbeat.”. Love Hugh Grant too, also probably more handsome than offbeat. I think sometimes the lines can be blurred though, depending on one’s tastes and perspective.
I think my weirdest ones have been Christopher Eccleston (9th Doctor) and Martin Freeman.
Yeah, there is nothing “offbeat” about having a crush on Colin Firth. I am still watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice series twice a year.
William Hurt. I have no idea why.
Denzel Washington. Always. Those eyes.
Bringing it back to the offbeat, I’m pretty sure my first was Jonny Quest. Unless it was Checkov from the original Star Trek. “Keptin . . .” :))
Yes, bringing it back to the offbeat - I find Martin Clunes (Doc Martin) strangely attractive!
When I was a kid I had a huge crush on Stewart Copeland, the drummer for the Police (everyone else was gaga over Sting).
Now my celeb crushes are all mainstream ; )
I agree with @sevmom that Colin Firth is in the “handsome” category! So are Michael J. Fox and Denzel Washington!
Trivago man is also handsom although I don’t know if he belongs in the “celebrity” category. Have you googled “trivago man”? He is obviously “Heartthrob and sexy as hell”. I should stalk him and find out more about him. Seems like he has an interesting background.
Anyway, yeah, William Hurt is a little offbeat. I heard he is really weird in real life.
Ok, I’ll try again. I think Christoper Walken is attractive, like his smile and eyes.
For me, I think William Hurt also tends to fall more on the “handsome” side of things. No question about Denzel Washington!
I had it bad for Christopher Walken at one time. Makes me laugh, just thinking about it.
Nick Offerman.
Christopher in Deer Hunter and The Dead Zone. Sigh!
