This test was totally unfair, way harder than previous testings. Hopefully the curve will make up for it, but I doubt it.

I agree that this test was absolutely more difficult and obscure!

Does anyone know anything else about the steam boats question? we have 2 CCers put the eastern cities, but I’m beginning to think it was midwestern rivers.

The Republican Party vs. militant abolitionist DID have popular sovereignty, but that didn’t distinguish the two groups.

There was a question asking about a quote. I put it was Jefferson.

How about the position of a person supporting something about states rights? I put Calhoun.

For the rivers question, I put midwestern states.

The quote question, I put Jefferson as well.

States’ Rights? Hmm, can’t remember that one.

The state’s rights had a quote about all the states being sovereign or something and independent. Oh, I remember now! It was a quote by Patrick Henry.

“Is this a Confederacy, like Holland–an association of a number of independent States, each of which retain its individual sovereignty?”

Who would answer YES to this quote?

Guys I typed “robert fulton” “steamboat” in google and it said he connected new york with albany or w/e… was the midwest around during the 1820-30’s? (like “traffic”?)

Some more questions
- Right before entry into WWI the U.S. practiced all of the following except…
I put vertical integration of buiseness or w/e - Progress woman advocated all of the following except
An equal rights ammendment (not the same as suffrage) - All of the following were reform movements in early 19th century (basically 2nd great awakening) except
Suffrage for blacks - The consitution is federalism? (or was it republicanism?)
- Framers of the Dec. Of ind. most likely believed that.
Stuck on two choices
A. British is a tyrinnacl (the king)
b. Something about soverignty (choice D) - A graph question. Showed population of france/ england/ spain all in america (their terrortories). Put england had great influx of immigration.
- Another cartoon. The greeks givign a dead bird to the soviets.
I put the U.s. foreign goals in greece.
there was also another option “the truman doctrine supported greek gureillas”.
It said “Greek armY” and “red guerillas” so i was confused and just put the foreign goals ones.

These are 7 questions. Can someone help?

For the entry into WWI question, I’m sure the US practiced vertical integration…I remember putting someting different, but I don’t remember exactly what it was.

What best characterized the signers of the constitution? I put they were fiercly loyal to the british parliament…though that’s wrong.

he state’s rights had a quote about all the states being sovereign or something and independent. Oh, I remember now! It was a quote by Patrick Henry.

“Is this a Confederacy, like Holland–an association of a number of independent States, each of which retain its individual sovereignty?”

Who would answer YES to this quote?

NY and Albany are in the EAST.

Ok here is half of the test. I dont remember many more.
For last few questions i remember a LOT of D’s.
ANyone care to respond to these lol…?

oh and about the WWI thing… didn’t progressives and wilson (although a democrat a still popular progressive) stop vertical integration? I thought they still supported labor unions UNTIL the entry into WWI.

Ugh, we just learned about the Gulf of Tonkin in class, but I forgot already. It had something to do with an alleged attack on American ships in Vietnam?

IT WAS HARD. Dear God. But maybe because it was so hard, it will be cured you know? Like it will be easier to get above 700. We’ll see because I have a feeling a lot of people didn’t do so hot.

The more I think about it, the more I think this test was total ********.

South had better generals
I don’t recall a question like this…

black people discriminated = loyalty oaths
Nor this

forgot about this. A quote or letter. I put irish 1830’s (no irish need apply)
Nor this. Anyone care to refresh my memory?

Before WWI it was not vertical inte.
I’m pretty sure there was vertical integration before WWI, though I may be mistaken.

Me too.

I put loyathy oaths as well.

I put chinese immigrant, since it mentioned something about not knowing the language or the land, something like that. Also, he mentioned not being able to pan any gold, so I assumed he meant the California Gold Rush. During the rush, many chinese immigrants came to California.

There was vertical integration before WW1 (the whole trusts thing, standard oil, carnegie mellon, etc), but I don’t remember this question either.

I skipped around the test, maybe I didn’t read some of the questions . . .? :(

I skipped 14 yikes , i regret not trying to even guess for the ones I sternly did not remember. I finished rather quickly(about 30 minutes).

1.) “Before WW1 the business practice NOT used”:I could not decided between corporations and the encouragement of labor unions-in the end i chose the encouragement of labor unions…

2.) The one you all are talking about with the “irish” sounds like the letter from a man to his wife about his travels to a new place…I chose the “california” one, unwittingly because I saw the word “gold”.

I actually refused to study once I opened up a practice test from Barron’s. The p.t was completely absurd (focused alot on useless memorization of rather obscure treaties, institutions etc.). This test had a FEW of those.

For the ones I answered I did not have too much trouble…

the gulf of tonkin resolution let Johnson &Nixon declare war without congressional approval

For that letter, I put Chinese immigrant.

For business practices before WWI, I put encouragement of labor unions.

How about the thing about Roosevelt before WWII? I put he sold extra military goods to the allies.

I remember this question now. I put this answer as well. Was it an EXCEPT question?

Same as you.

I am pretty sure it said except (80%) because as I was checking i put the labor one but then i read except…

Yeah, it was an except question.

There was a question like “which of these let businesses run themselves under regulations?” or someting like that. The answer choices were the CC, TVA, and I narrowed it down Work Progress Administration and National Recovery Administration. I ended up with NRA though, which I believe to be correct b/c I checked my history book.
