That being said, I agree with those above that say that indoor spaces ought to be cooler in the winter, and warmer in the summer, to save energy, and if I need to wear a sweater indoors in the winter, I’ll put one on.

Of course, you probably walked in wearing a sweater anyway, since it was cold outside.

I never understood the reasoning for dropping the temp to 69° in the winter in the name of saving energy, and then cooling the building to 69° in the summer. Wouldn’t you bump the temp up in the summer in the name of saving energy?

Sixty-nine seems to me to be a very comfortable temperature. If it is too cold for some they can wear additional clothing.However, if you jack up the temperature in summer a lot of people are going to be sweating like hogs and just almost sick, and they can’t really strip to their underwear in an office. The temperature needs to be kept below 70 year round.
