<p>The financial aid appeal isn’t difficult, but it takes a really long time. If you need to appeal, do it NOW (or as soon as your financial aid award is posted). You have to download a form from their website and attach all of the relevant docs. It has to be legit though, they won’t give you more money just because. In my case, I went from making about $19k in 2008 to making about $9000 in 2009. I had to prove it with paycheck stubs and proof that I left my full-time job at the beginning of the year. Berkeley’s financial aid department ended up giving me about $5k more after they reveiwed my appeal. They were very generous and helpful though, like I said, it took forever.</p>
