[</em>]Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I think the internships really helped. The lab complex I intern at is nationally recognized, a major component in the Manhattan project, etc. I also helped to remodel and redesign our district website as a web intern. Computers are my thing, and I really demonstrated it through my activities and essays. The legacy and half-URM status didn’t hurt, either.
[li]Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: Competition at MIT was EXTREMELY tough this year. I feel extraordinarily fortunate to have been accepted. Anybody who was accepted should feel that way. There were many qualified applicants for whom they simply didn’t have room. Best of luck to the rest of you.[/li][/ul]</p>
