I put $2.50
Did you bubble in 2.50 or did you bubble in 2.5?
@Chrysanthemum14 – with or w/o the zero? Does it even make a difference?
Doesn’t matter.
i put 2.50 with the zero
@y0l0lsen Same
wait so does anyone know the answer to the golf writing quetion
Ok, so today someone on the “College Board Error on June 6 2015?” thread claimed that CB confirmed both over the phone and in writing (e-mail) that now only one section (either 8 or 9) will be omitted from a students final score.
I don’t know what to believe anymore. They keep telling people different things.
was it setion 8 or section 9 that was affected? do we know
It’s already confirmed that collegeboard has a bunch of worthless jokes working for them, so don’t pay that any mind. Both sections not being scored has already been confirmed. “How is it possible to not score two sections and still have valid scores?” indicates that both sections are not being scored on collegeboard.org.
@ekl2498 Those ppl from customer service are stupider than a carrot. BOTH SECTIONS are being cancelled. It’s what ETS wrote, and writing is more official than whatever they say in customer service!
Plus it is statistically impossible to cancel only one section, as one form of the test had the mistake on math and the other form on reading.
Yes, @Fossie is correct you can’t just cancel one for people you HAVE to cancel both in order for it to be right. so ignore the weird people
Yeah true…it is just insane that they are still telling people things contrary to CB’s official statement.
I put 2.5 as the answer for the math question. On several practice SAT math tests, there is usually multiple right answers for the same answer, so I thought 2.5 would be also correct.
Dumb indians?
@sharkshockey I put 2.5, too. I would assume they would consider that correct; there’s usually a couple different versions of the right answer they’ll take on grid in.
…crap i dont remember if i got 2.50 or not :(((
I am still furious about the 92% thing. But then again I’m not 100% sure if I didn’t choose it because I remembered a different graph. Was there another graph question? One with a graph that looked like a S curve but backwards? If there wasn’t, I have no idea where that memory came from.
I wrote 2.50, mostly because the original was in dollar form. However, I know in my math curriculum (which is marked on the computer), either 2.5 or 2.50 would be acceptable - so I don’t feel it’s that big of an issue.
As for that petition that’s been talked about: heck, I support it. I’d much rather have an option of a free retest than “wrong” data about my score that has been extrapolated from the other sections.
Quoting a commenter on the post made by the Washington Post:
“…if you look at the terms and conditions you signed when you registered for the test, they say that if they detect testing irregularities that include timing issues, they can cancel the test or offer a make-up. NO WHERE did they tell you that they could only score a part of the test.”
CB is only caring about the money right now, nothing else. They’re not offering a retest because it would cost THEM money - a whole lot of money - to offer free retests for any student who wants one. CB has screwed up in a most epic way: failed to deliver a “standardized” test, failed to provide adequate customer service & information, and ultimately failed to offer a “proper” solution to THEIR problem.
I don’t want colleges to see my SAT score because it will essentially give them misguided information about my test. What if I had gotten a perfect score in section 8, compared with an averaged -2? That would affect my score in a big way.Personally, I would love the College Board to publicly own up to their mistake and offer a free retest. Because they screwed up, and us students shouldn’t have to pay the price of such a mistake.
I heard that some people got an e-mail from the College Board with a survey asking for their opinion about a July or September SAT test.
I didn’t get it, but did anyone else?
