***Official 2015 June SAT (US Only) THREAD***

@Upennpls16 Oh because I asked one of my friends and that didn’t happen to them… what are they going to do about it? I managed to convince my proctor to give us extra time but idk about the rest of the country

What was the family’s tone when the daughter met them on a good day and a less good day?
Dont remeber answer choices

@GPAfreak I think I put the answer with confrontational in it

@y0l0lsen thanks but do you remember the actual question? Idk remember what I put for that one

Yea confrontational. They were going up to her and asking her offensive/challenging questions

@lolokcollege I said falsely dramatic because there was this big dramatic buildup to something that wasn’t actually deserving of such drama. It was exaggerated to comic effect.

@Hannah8 i think it said "Copying a manuscript costs 6.95. Copying one page costs 6cents. If she copies her manuscript length - 5 pages, it will cost 2.27 i think less than just copying the whole manuscript(6.95). how many pages is manuscript taht she’s copying

@lilypippili In all honesty, I don’t think they will do anything. It’s only 5 extra minutes. Then again, they may offer retakes (although I did see a post saying collegeboard will not cancel the scores).

@pokemon1 they would not make Section 8 the experimental… this would be an issue because some people had messed up time on Section 8 and some people had messed up time on Section 9… and they weren’t all writing/math/reading . also a lot of kids take the experimental less seriously than other sections. it wouldn’t be fair.

@Upennpls16 seriously? Idk, 5 minutes can make a huge difference. Whatever, I guess we’ll just wait and see

@Upennpls16 Where did you see that they won’t cancel scores??

@jahnbrown Someone emailed college board and quoted the response. Plus, its been more than 24 hours…more than enough time for them to make a decision.

Oh that was me lol… I thought that email was more a generic response that they send to anyone who asks about their score, as it seemed the person that responded was unaware of the widespread nature of the timing issue, but idk

How about everyone gets 2400 :D. Easiest way to make us happy…

Their official twitter account tweeted directly at a teacher who tweeted them about the timing issue but it looks like they’ve since deleted the tweet. I doubt anything is going to be done about the misprint issue. I suppose five minutes really wouldn’t make or break the score anyway…I know, on math at least, that if I don’t know how to do the problem…I don’t know how to do the problem.

@Qwerty568 It certainly affects CR scores though…

I omitted two at the end of section 8 cause I didn’t have enough time… the extra 5 wouldve been nice :frowning:

for ‘fixed’ did you guys put stationary?

I think the easiest way to deal wtih this is to ask test centers to mark who got 25 and who got 20. Separate those into two categories, and make the curves slightly different. Should be pretty easy and also fair.

@y0l0lsen not really fair to those who didn’t use the extra time but whose proctors still made us sit through it

@Qwerty568
Certainly not. Five minutes is a long time. That’s a 25% time increase. You can get a lot done in five minutes especially if you are on a math section. There will be more time to think it through, more time to review, more to to catch mistakes, more time to effectively guess on an answer. On CR it’s really good too. More time to read over a passage you didn’t really understand. more time to understand questions. etc.

Also there are some reports of students getting additional 5 minutes on both 20 minute sections.

The test being un-standardized is a big issue.
