@Newdle
5 was the hypotenuse though? The base of the triangle was rad 21. The height was 2.
So the area was .5(2)(rad 21) = 4.528…

@Newdle .5bh. The leg that was two wasn’t the base
Idk if I even remember the question correctly now.
it was asking for area of square. if hypotenuse is 5, and leg is 2, that means the other leg is root 21. this means that the answer if it was asking for total area would be area of triangle: (root21 x 2/2) + area of square (21) which means that it would be a decimal, not a grid in answer.
Honestly I’m impressed that you guys remember this much; the test is already a blur to me (although that’s probably because I graduated today). Although I am 500 percent sure that the square/ sqrt 21 question was a grid in for me. Make that 600 percent sure.
@flamethug75 This was technically the last time I could possibly take the SATs so I suppose it goes to show that I never really learned my lesson!
wait… now I’m confused about what the question was asking!! but I do agree with @Newdle that the answer would be 26 if it was asking for the total area since the two legs were whole numbers (of the triangle, that is)… the hypotenuse is not included in the area of the triangle so the root 21 doesn’t matter
What did you guys get for the question that asked for the area of half the circle?
@VanillaBean22
root 21 was the other leg not the hypotenuse.
5 > root 21 > 2
@VanillaBean22 I thought sqrt 21 was the height of the triangle, since it was part of the square and the triangle “backed up” to the square? Argh.
Now that I think about it, 5 is probably the hypotenuse since 5^2-2^2=21.
@Qwerty568 lol. It’s no problem. At least your outta highschool.
@agloe07 I dont recall the numbers but III equaled II+I
@flamethug75 Very true, although being out of high school and still taking SATs/ACTs is not necessarily a position I would envy if I was in your shoes.
Area of half the circle was 32.
what did you guys think of the essay question? I found it pretty hard to think of good examples
Does anyone know how to do that math multiple choice question that had a quadratic equation with a b value of like 7x
@lilypippili
There were different essay topics. Mine was pretty easy to find example for. (I had the persuasion one with listening vs speaking)
Congrats! @Qwerty568
Does anyone remember the answer to the maoi island question that said:
What did passage 1 method do that passage 2 didn’t? I put that passage 1 asked the citizens for help.
What was the advantage of passage 1 over passage 2?
I put less resources
What could be observed about the quote that said “many scientists experiment on the base” what can be inferred?
I thought the baby carrot sentence should be deleted bc it needed to be fixed but none of the choices fixed it. The paragraph still made sense without it
@idislikethesats why did it have to be deleted? It fit as a follow up of the last sentence adn there was no error
