***Official 2015 June SAT (US Only) THREAD***

alright thanks @lilypippili haha only time can tell now

@EasyNotSoMuch123 modern in the sense that they existed at the same time as the scientists

was the FDR section experimental?

@theatregirl445 most definitely, I’ve never seen anything like that before. It kinda reminded me of the act actually

Does anybody else feel like the redesign of the SAT is completely intended to make it more like the ACT? Because every experimental section I’ve gotten has seemed a lot like the ACT.

is the tomato passage of the things that eat tomatoes experimental section? If not, what was the answer to the question " What is the use of the quotations around the word sniffing" I put that it was figurative usage

@Qwerty568 yeah I felt like the new design was really similar to the ACT

The experimental in the math section was literally just like a normal SAT grid-in section for the most part.

really @ALibertarian? I thought that the question format was longer and more grouped like the science section of the ACT

@VanillaBean22 do you happen to know what the math experimental was? because I had these two math sections back to back and one of them had a table+scatterplot graph and there were 3 or 4 questions based off that. was this the experimental? im dying to know

Made it to the Washington Post:

I think they should just throw out both sections. Both sections were CR and Math (the same ones I suppose as well?) for all test-takers and they were not experimental. I just don’t see what else can be done.

REALLY NEED AN ANSWER. If a reading section had questions referring to the previous question, is that probably the experimental secrion? Because i need it to be…i omitted two in that section ._.

Lol ok for the listening vs speaking I made up two fake examples… One was like some fake court case about gay marriage and the one guy won because he listened to his opponent and made an effective rebuttal. Then the other one was like the Nixon vs Kennedy televised debate and Nixon made some comment convince people to be pro-vietwar and then Kennedy listened and made a counterargument and essentially won the debate because of it.
Do u think the grade will be like wtf and give me a zero or since they’re supporting my thesis will they just go along with it?

Grader*

I think you’re safe with the court case but idk about the nixon vs kennedy thing, if your reader is a history buff you might be in trouble. highly doubt a 0 though you can only get that if your essay is off topic or written in ink

@ohwowwoohoo I didn’t have it so it might be experimental

@jaylin35 I’m pretty sure the math experimental section was the one that had the blood transfusion questions in it and the really long passages describing the problem info for almost every problem, so yeah the charts/graphs one you were talking about (if we’re referencing the same thing)

@lilypippili thanks. I was actually thinking vice versa but I’m glad you think the court case idea will be fine. I thought the Nixon-Kennedy thing would be OK for the most part because that debate did actually happen and I think it happened during the war anyways but idk if it completely true hahaha I’m hopinggggg

There was another math multiple choice that had to do with watering plants and the equation was like

Y= 900(.83)^x + 400(.83)^x-3

What was the answer?
