Official 2016 Waitlist Discussion Thread

I told everyone that I will run with no clothes (streak) on the street next to my house if I get accepted off the waitlist :/

[Harvard Yield for Class of 2016 Soars to 81% | News | The Harvard Crimson](Harvard Yield for Class of 2016 Soars to 81% | News | The Harvard Crimson)

Will they be contacting students in waves again, like last year?

While I understand how people are concluding that non-Asian females are most likely to be taken off, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Harvard will be following those percentages, right? Trying to cling to hope…

“Fitzsimmons said that the office expects to admit more waitlisted students than usual this time around, since it was cautious in its initial offers.” (from an older article) :frowning: :frowning: :(

A friend of mine said they got a phone call today.
Did anyone try to log into https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html</a> ?

I don’t see anything out of the ordinary. @detoidi, what did your friend’s phone call say?

Based on what happened last year, yesterday was a bit earlier for anyone to get a call from Harvard…

Its true. They are admitted to next year’s class

They? You mean multiple students from your school?

no, just one.

detoidi,

Are you sure you heard it right? Yesterday was really early for Harvard to have enough time informing anyone.

Do you mind share some basics information of your friend? High test score, play sports, or music, or whatever?

Accordfing to the Harvard Admissions Office representative I just spoke with, no one has been called off the wait list. The committee is meeting on Monday, and the first round will be notified next week.

A word of wisdom, people lie big time. Last year, one of my child’s classmate and in the top .5% in the school, said that she got accepted by Harvard, after getting deferred and rejected by Yale. Suddenly, a week before the May 1st deadline, she said that she decided she would take a gap year. As soon as I heard it, I stated that she was lying because she was from a Vietnamese family, very aggressive and will be totally out of character to “waste” a year. Guess what, come September, she is a freshman in Swarthmore.

we come here to share useful information if nothing else at least for comforting. We don’t know each other and not sure why people come here to lie…

why people come here to lie… When people are repeating what someone else told them, it presumes the veracity of the third party.

There are a lot of people who ■■■■■ on CC too.

Oh God… I didnt lie. Harvard doesnt always tell you the truth. I called yesterday and they said they were going to committee in a few weeks but according to the Crimson, they started reviewing yesterday. Believe what you will, but dont call me a liar just because youre misinformed

Btw I have my ways to verify veracity.

Jb up there just called and said they were going to committee Monday… @.@ I’m severely confused…

Look up the articles by the Harvard newspapers. Colleges and scholarship organizations dont always tell yall the truh. Not until you’re already in.

detoidi, nobody here argues that you are lying, but they are just questioning the veracity of your friend. People, students especially, make up a lot of things. Just look in this website threads where students have been caught in their own web of lies, just one recent where he said he got accepted by both H and S, whereas only S accepted him and now he was worried but could not say the truth.
