Official AP Chemistry Thread (2014-2015)

I feel so unconfident about my score b/c I already know a few of my MC is wrong and my FRQ performance was just plain bad. I didn’t even get to the last question and I’m positive that some prior questions I got wrong so I feel like I got a 3.

Was kind of bummed at first that we’re not allowed to discuss questions here anymore, but then realized that means more time to study for physics because I won’t be glued to this thread. :stuck_out_tongue: Maybe I’ll actually pass that AP?

At least we’re done with this class…never really expected to survive it, haha

@katterik damn, that sucks. Good luck on late testing, i heard it is harder as well. Maybe it will be easier this year though.

Are we allowed to talk about the questions after they’re released?

@glasshours do you have AP physics 1? If so, how are you studying for it? I’m using barrons and these practice problems. Do you think the way im studying is efficient enough?

Anyone doing calc tmrw? Hahahahaha need to start studying

@notachemgod hopefully. I’m just worried about the curve though. We have about 130 chem students and a lot of them are very smart…like they got 80-90% correct on our practice MC tests smart. I was thinking about how that might affect the curve since the late testers are a different group, so they might be scored separately. Oh well

.

i guess the CollegeBoard is actually trying to enforce their rules this year

@notachemgod - I have no idea how I’m studying, honestly. I’m going to do the 50 MC questions from the exam my teacher gave us tonight, go over those, go over concepts I’m struggling with, spend ten thousand hours on the physics thread, then tomorrow, probably going to do two more unofficial practice tests that my teacher linked.

Nobody knows what to expect for this AP, and frankly, I’m really terrified ._.

Dat electrochem tho…

Lol my teacher reads this forum. If you’re reading this, it’s Dr.

haha the free response was sort of hard though

i thought the electrochem was pretty straightforward, though.

you hardly had to know how a volatic cell worked to get more than half of it right.
like it had too little electrochem for an “electrochem” problem

and also wtf is an aquilot?

Congrats everyone, you’re done it!

Just wondering, how long did you have for FRQ? Thats good that they gave you more time, last year was not a fun FRQ timewise.

^Lolol completely screwed that one up

@kingofxbox99 - I didn’t know how to do a question, so I wasted a lot of time staring at it…I wouldn’t know. :stuck_out_tongue:

For the FRQs I was stuck on writing chemical equations which really stinks BC that should be like chemistry 101 stuff for my class

The multiple choice was exactly what I was expecting if not a little easier than usual. So I went into the FR thinking I was in good shape… no  the cell question was fantastic I was so happy to see it just because I know electrochemistry the best. I probably got 7 or 8 points out of the 10 on that one. But the rest was just… yikes. I knew I was weak in equilibrium but not that weak lmao… The highlight of the exam was when I pulled out all my pens and pencils and 3 calculators and the proctor said I was the most prepared student he’s ever seen for an AP exam. I mean if I’m not gonna pass it might as well prep right I guess  I hope everyone did great!!

I finished FRQ half an hour early because I just gave up and didn’t do half of #3 lol whoops.

@20wildcat20 I feel that so hard honestly… I didn’t do half of #3 and skipped 2 parts of #2 the rest I answered but completely BSed most of it so I just hope that I got lucky and scraped out a 3
