yea they tell you its on a bell curve but its not…
if it were to be, the relative amount of 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 wouldn’t change for any of the exams; percentage wise, it would be the same for every exam
If you retake an AP exam, will both of your scores show on your transcript?
I think you can choose what exams you show to colleges, but I’m not sure on that.
I had form O, and think I got somewhere around 43+ MC questions right and around 35-37/46 in the FRQ section. Think this is enough for a 5?
On second thought, I probably got more in the range of 45-50/60 in the MC section.
Oh gosh I don’t even remember what I did in the multiple choice part… I was too concentrated, I finished it all but the point is whether it is right or wrong …
Oh good! I only know a few with that form also
Also im pretty scared since everything said that form o free response was bad and form c was easy?? But I thought the free response for c was pretty hard…
I drew the Lewis thing wrong and didn’t get the absorption
Wait but the MC is out of 50 not 60 right?
@Ninjadu yeah although we took 60, 10 of them are experimental and don’t count so it’s out of 50
Darn I probably got all the experimental right and all the actual questions wrong :’(
Oh I’ve asked this before but no one replied. So uhh if I got the first part of the problem wrong and then used the wrong answer later will I get the later answer right even if I used the wrong value?
@sweeetea
Yeah, I couldn’t get that question either. I just made up numbers (absorption was such a tiny unit for us) and solved for K, answer some questions based off my made up answer. I’ll get some credit this way. Funny how we got some funky lab based FR.
Out of the people who had C that I’ve found, none of them said it was easy. In fact, only one of them said it was fair, the rest said it was hard. For O, the people at my school has mixed responses. No one call really make that judgement anyways since it wasn’t possible to take both versions. Haha.
Hoping for a good AP Chemistry curve for form C. QQ
@Ninjadu
Yeah, if you made up numbers to keep going, you’ll get some credit, assuming the work is right. It’s a good tactic to use for this test if one of the FR couldn’t be done.
@Kelvas
Lol that’s great
I didn’t even try to answer it
I forgot that I got partial credit for some stuff ughhhh
Also, I did not know se had an expanded octet?? So I got the subsequent questions wrong
Oh I didn’t make up numbers I just forgot to subtract something UGH… So I will get credit right?
@sweeetea
Don’t worry. If everyone who had c performed badly, the curve will remedy it. IMO, it’s better to have harder exams since most people would ace the easy exam, and little mistakes would hurt a lot more. With harder exam, the curve will reflect it and our grades will be bumped up.
Hope for the best! (and hopefully those sleeping seniors had C. Haha)
@Ninjadu
As long as you show work using the proper formula/method, you’ll get some credit. You can look back at how the FR were normally graded on the old exams, and find that points are awarded based on doing certain things, and even if the initial values are wrong, you’ll get credit for using the correct method.
Say for example, I couldn’t get the partial pressure. I’ll make up numbers on the fly and even if it makes no sense to have those numbers, I’ll still get some credit if I plug the pressure into the Kp expression and solve.
does anybody know exactly how to calculate raw score? thanks
The two different forms had completely different questions??? That seems pretty unfair. Why wouldn’t they just be the same questions but in a different order?
I’m pretty sure everyone at my school had form o-mc was pretty easy and free response seemed hard at first but the questions weren’t necessarily hard they were just kinda weird. Did anyone else feel like they had tons of extra time???
The free response this year definitely seemed harder than it has been in previous years
If you feel that you did poorly on the test or even if you feel you did well you should watch Hilter reacts to his ap score on YT it’s very entertaining
