OFFICIAL AP Environmental Review Thread

dude you gave the answer in the question…

to the biodiversity question…

specialist would be screwed.also, environmental degradation. food webs and chains would mess up etc

Explain the difference between stratospheric and tropospheric ozone. Also, describe the process in which tropospheric ozone is created.(chemical equations are good as well)

I am not taking the AP Environmental Exam, but the answer to the upper question is “oxygen is the most abundant element in the earth’s crust”.

Freshman-year earth science from three years ago for the win!

haha thats right sligh_anarachist

okay tougher one.

What is the SECOND most abundant element in the earth’s crust?

stratospheric ozone = good b/c it captures UV rays

tropospheric ozone = bad b/c it is a powerful oxidizing agent that can form toxic compounds with other chemicals… leads to creation of smog

tropospheric ozone is created when nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds react with sunlight in the troposphere

yep its o i think (:

Q: put this in order of size
Community, population, biosphere, ecosystem, species

from most inclusive to least inclusive:

biosphere, ecosystem, community, population, and species.

answer my question! haha

is it nitrogen?

Nope, any other guesses? This question came out on a previous CB released test, so it might be good to know.

uhh…i guess ur offline =(
Q: what fraction of water is fresh water?

Oh ur online  hehehe
hmm idk about the crust =[
and do you have any MC questions for APES? if you do i would really really appreciate it >//<

fresh water = 2%

fine, I’ll release the answer for that question. It’s silicon!

Nope, we just took some practice tests in the class.

oh okayy…
so most abundent is oxygen; second is silicon.
Q: what is the place that contains 78% of nitrogen and 21 % of oxygen?

earth’s atmosphere

Q: What country has the largest supply of proven coal reserves?

GPAx213: do you have msn? would you wanna do this review on msn since its only two of us?

The United States?

Q: explain the principle of superposition

I don’t have msn, but I do have aim. I prefer talking privately as well since it’s only two of us… Do you have aim kawaiigurl?

The United States?

Q: explain the principle of superposition

sry i don’t have aim =[
i have Yahoo Messenger too…if you have it.

nope don’t have it. :frowning: I guess we just have to talk over CC

yeah it’s united states.

superpostion = the oldest rocks on bottom and youngest on top (sedimentary rocks)

Q: What are some unconventional oil resources?

hmm i don’t really understand this question…
would it be Crude oil? :S

(p.s do u think we should go over this by topic? for example, we were just talkin about earth structure…)

Q: what are some causes of volcanism?
