***Official AP Environmental Science 2012-2013 Thread***

This is irrelevant to the AP exam, considering we can’t discuss the questions.

So, out of curiosity, do you guys know much about a cloud, brown in color, in South Asia?
Just wondering, why might it be of concern to the U.S.?

@scoob, why are you so pretentious? Sure, I thought it was fair and likely got a 5, but to go around questioning whether other people really thought it was hard is simply wrong. Think before you type something that puts everyone else but you down, you don’t make yourself look better by making others look worse.

Very well put @bilnythesciguy! :)

OMG *** I’m so dumb that test was so hard for me I think I got a 3 maybe a 4 if I’m lucky
I was doing well on the practice tests but I had trouble
I’m super sad :((((

@bilnythesciguy I knew I had this comment coming and i didnt mean to come off as “pretentious” or rude. I just really wanted to know what about the test made people think it was so hard

^Not to complain, but a lot of us had teachers that didn’t really cover the curriculum at all. I didn’t really realize that until about a month ago and b/c of senioritis I didn’t really have the motivation to self-study it, so basically I don’t think I did so hot.

@scoob fair enough. Next time refrain from the derisive language.

I felt as though the frqs this time around were a bit too extensive, especially the second one regarding the mathematical calculations. I was aware that calculations were an integral part of the exam, particularly the frqs, but what I wasn’t expecting was one with nothing but calculations…naturally, I ran out of time…

The MC part was relatively difficult since it had A LOT of reading questions. FRee response is easy in my opinion. I’m pretty sure that I got a 4, hoping for a 5 though. On the other hand, AP Psy is brutal

@kerning lol nicely asked. I also don’t know anything about brown smog in South Asia…

gahh the MC part killeed me and the Free response
im crying
i didn’t study hard enough

@zsc1234–Everything left my brain when I left the room, sorry!
@scoob822–I found the MC tough because to me, a lot of them looked like they were obvious until I re-read the question and saw it was asking for a different answer, and then had to figure out what that was. So they weren’t impossible, it was just hard to do them all in 90 minutes. And some I just didn’t know, but (hopefully) made good guesses. But if you found them easy, congrats!

Wow, I just replied to posts from forever ago. Sorry guys, my internet is terrible :|

I did good on the frq especially the math part but i did horrible on the mc. I didnt answer like 7 cuz there was no clock in the room D: will this prevent me from a 5?

qq it was so hard i wish they have good curve

The free response questions this year were so easy. I almost felt like anyone could answer the questions and still do well, even without prior APES knowledge. I actually found the FRQ fun to write.

The multiple choice was brutal though. I self-studied, so I don’t know if it’s because I only crammed with PR and smartypants for two days, but I felt like the exam asked about many things that Princeton Review didn’t emphasize or even mention. Maybe it’s because I don’t remember some things that I read, but still. I think I was unsure on at least 30% of the multiple choice questions, if not more LOL.

Just making sure, but there is no guessing penalty for APES this year right?
PR said that there is a guessing penalty, but I remember that for AP bio last year there wasn’t one.

Yeah I crammed the 2011 Princeton review for two days and apparently there was a penalty for wrong answers back then. However i noticed that the princeton review didnt mention most of the stuff this year D: anyone know if i left 7 blank will i still have a chance for a 5?

Looks like everyone found the MCs hard! What a relief, btw what are your chances of getting a 5 i mean how do i calculate my chances. How many questions i should get right to get a 5/4?

Yeah, my guesses for FRQs are 8-8-5-8. MC probably only like 70 - 75. Chances at a 5?
